Your role
As a Senior Research Analyst you will be an integral part of a dynamic team that provides on-going research for CBC's English Canada's initiatives. You will assist in the design, implementation, analysis and presentation of market, media, and audience research studies undertaken by the Custom Research team. Core responsibilities of the Senior Research Analyst will be questionnaire design, survey scripting and deployment, monitoring data collection, data analysis, report writing and presentation of results.
Key Tasks

• Work with external sample providers and troubleshoot data collection issues.
• Conduct and manage quantitative and qualitative research initiatives for CBC English Services.
• Synthesize this information and build reports that highlight insights in a clear and concise manner.
• Use SPSS or other software to analyze survey data and present them in easily understood tabular or graphic formats.
• Questionnaire design and survey scripting, sample deployment.
• Select or create the research design or methodology best suited to meet current needs.
• Present findings to internal stakeholders.

We Are Looking For a Candidate With The Following

• Advanced MS Excel and MS PowerPoint skills, Google docs, slides and sheets.
• Requires in-depth knowledge and industry experience of current qualitative and quantitative market research methodologies.
• Requires the capacity to respond in a timely way to a wide range of requests, both urgent and long-term, and to handle multiple priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Sense of initiative and creativity in conceptualizing research problems, designing methodologies, analyzing, interpreting and presenting data.
• Knowledge of the media landscape, in general, and of CBC, in particular.
• Experience using large syndicated data sources (vividata, Numeris, Comscore, Environics Analytics Prizm, etc.).
• Demonstrated technical expertise with survey scripting tools such as Sparq, Alchemer, Qualtrics or Survey Monkey.
• High level of oral and written communication skills, especially for the presentation of research findings.
• Demonstrated survey and questionnaire design expertise, particularly in the media and audience research field, including program testing, host testing, website testing as well as Brand Lift Studies.
• Demonstrated competency in creating compelling reports and presentations of market research data with a focus on insights.
• Academic and professional training in social science research with a post-secondary degree in communications, social science, media studies, or relevant discipline, or equivalent education and experience. Minimum B.A, but M.A preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail to ensure data accuracy.
