Research Services Officer Jobs

Experience in hands-on laboratory practices such as cryogenic and vacuum systems;

Experience working with laboratory optical components and systems (detectors, lasers, etc.);

Experience in designing laboratory experiments;

Experience in programming, computer interfacing, and control of instruments by computer; and

Experience with data analysis and with communication of research findings.

Coordinate information related to donor intelligence, prospect identification and prospect management for data entry;

Superior communication and interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of internal stakeholders, including senior management team;

Conduct data integrity projects to assess/enhance information in the donor CRM pertaining to Prospect Identification/Management;

Post secondary education will be considered an asset;

Excellent analytical and organizational skills;

Experience using Blackbaud CRM or relationship databases is an asset;

Requires in-depth knowledge and industry experience of current qualitative and quantitative market research methodologies.

- Experience preparing/writing/reviewing research grants and proposals

- Experience working as part of a research team, preferably in an engineering or science-related discipline

Strong communication skills with the ability to synthesize and clearly present complex information

Manage the work of Research Review Consultants:

Analyze proposals to identify external subject matter experts qualified to review.

Document/summarize feedback from external reviewers.

Strong organisational, time management, coordination and facilitation skills.

Develops, implements and maintains physical and electronic filing systems, especially for data management.

Assists with any other duties required by the research projects or for the management of the Institute.

One to two years’ experience (print and/or digital; events; media; professional or not).

Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere), Drupal and Wordpress. Proficiency in HTML and CSS are an asset.

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, to work under pressure, to effectively manage overlapping duties and to meet deadlines.

Creating reports and giving presentations to senior management

Assisting in model change management related activities for catastrophe model vendor updates and the Validus View of Risk

Working knowledge of industry catastrophe models (AIR & RMS) and MS SQL, 2 1/2+ years related work experience

Domain knowledge of the P&C treaty reinsurance/insurance market

Undergraduate and/or graduate degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g. mathematics, economics, finance, statistics, meteorology, earth sciences, computer science, etc.)

Excellent verbal and written communication skills i.e. a thorough command of the English language, including excellent spelling, grammar and punctuation

Overseeing general office management with respect to the assigned research project by:

Managing the RHSRNbc budget and finances, in addition to general bookkeeping duties

Planning, implementing and supporting all RHSRNbc projects and initiatives including events, workshops and activities. This includes but is not limited to:

Liaising with a variety of stakeholders at workshops, conferences and meetings (this includes physicians, academics and policy makers)

Liaising with network membership to facilitate requests for network support

Representing the RHSRNbc at provincial and national events (e.g., conferences, workshops)

Communication, Organization, and Project and Time Management

Primary responsibility for methodological and statistical content of publications, funding applications and knowledge translation initiatives

Set priorities, deliver outcomes in a timely manner and set/manage feasible expectations with collaborators

Analysis and report preparation of qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods data

Primary responsibility for extracting and analyzing variables in database-driven research

Assist in developing research presentations and posters for faculty and residents

Strong organizational, project management and time management skills

Demonstrates a commitment to enhancing one’s own awareness, knowledge, and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion

Previous experience supporting faculty in a research-intensive university with demonstrated skill in grant development and research administration

Experience coordinating programs and services, including preparing educational materials and delivering workshops

Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and work effectively to meet deadlines

Promotes services and programs offered by the SPARC Office;

Certified Health Information Management (CHIM) certification an asset

Well-developed organizational, time management and daily planning skills

Experience with data entry an asset

Completion of or currently enrolled in post-secondary education in a Health Science and/or Science related field required

Two years’ research related experience preferred

TCPS2: CORE Certification considered an asset

Able to manage your time well and are detailed oriented
