Summary Overview – Senior manager position responsible for overseeing the Canadian Regional Business. This position is a member of the North American Private Banking Management team. High-level responsibilities included full P&L oversight, staffing, strategic planning, and day-to-day management of the region.


EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS AND TASKS:

DEVELOP SALES STRATEGIES


  • Participate and initiate client calls with sales force
  • Accelerated sales revenue performance
  • Develop strategy to expand within the Canadian Region, open new offices when and where appropriate.
  • Serve as strategic partner with Citigroup Seniors to determine the best way to execute the CPB strategic plan.
  • Develop proactive sales and marketing strategies for different client segments.


DRIVE SALES RESULTS&PROFITABILITY


  • Streamline sales processes to meet client needs.
  • Continuously track sales performance.
  • Help bankers sell and add value to the sales process.
  • Manage expenses of sales team.


BUILD&MAINTAIN CLIENT RELATIONSHIPS


  • Minimal customer attrition
  • Ensure clients are presented with a seamless integration of products and services that best meet their needs.
  • Actively assist bankers in assessing client needs and developing recommendations.
  • Give client issues the highest level of priority.

BUILD EFFECTIVE TEAMS


NEGOTIATE THE CITIGROUP ORGANIZATION


  • Influence and gain support across all levels of the CPB and Citigroup.
  • Identify and initiate cross-referral opportunities.


PROMOTE INTEGRITY&TRUST


  • Ensure 100% compliance on all regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate risks and reduce exposure for the client and the CPB.
  • Processes (both bank and CIS) utilized are consistent with corporate compliance policies
  • Ensure controls are in place to meet all audit requirements


BUSINESS RISK / CONTROL & REGULATORY OVERSIGHT


  • Given the micro-banking environment (service team, middle office teams are all embedded into the Canadian Private Banking organization) the GMM Canada has personal responsibility for Canadian banking regulatory risk.
  • Maintain close relationships with various regulatory bodies (Ontario Securities Commission, Quebec Securities Commission, Office of Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI).
  • GMM Canada serve as the Chairman and CEO of Citibank Canada Investment Funds Ltd. (CCIFL)
  • Also serves as the Ultimate Designated Person (UDP) for CCIFL requiring oversight of the control environment.

  • Voting member of the Country Coordinating Committee and Asset Liability Committee
  • Member of the Business Risk and Control Committee for Citibank Canada

  • Build marketplace awareness of Citi Private Banking and communicate the value that Citi can bring to the new clients and the community.
  • Build social and community involvement by becoming an active participant in local events and becoming a well-known, trusted, and respected professional within the community.
  • Ensure staff is well trained on Private Banking products and services and that the Team can effectively communicate the "Citi" value.
  • Recruit, select and develop staff with well-rounded skills and knowledge to ensure growth and development of "high end" client base.
  • Achieve high levels of customer satisfaction for client base as client count increases.
  • Position the Citi Private Bank as the provider of choice for top UHNW Families in the Region.
  • Quickly gaining market share in regional market.
