ABB is currently seeking candidates to fill the position of business development manager for the space sector within the Space Systems and Defence (SDS) industry.
Summary of the position: The incumbent is responsible for business development in the space sector for the SDS industry. In this role, he reports to the company's direct sales manager.
Your responsibilities
  • Develop the partnerships necessary to ensure the growth of the volume of business.
  • Identify opportunities for growth in the space sector.
  • Analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the solutions offered by the competition.
  • Monitor market developments (technological and demographic, competition, or other changes) and inform the direct sales manager.
  • Expand the market for the space industry by promoting technologies, services, and production.
  • Participate in the development of the business plan of the SDS industry.
  • Analyze the needs of our customers and propose optimal and advantageous solutions.
  • Responsible for meeting an annual sales target.
  • Act as a bid manager.
  • Present our solutions to the external community, among others, at international conferences.
Your background
  • High degree of ambition for sales growth.
  • Autonomy in the fulfilment of his mandates.
  • Concern for customer satisfaction.
  • Must have a university degree in science or engineering.
  • Available to travel around the world (about 20% of his time).
  • In-depth knowledge of instrumental systems, ideally with optical technologies.
  • Demonstrate initiative and ability to build relationships.
  • Excellent understanding of the needs of space clients.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant sales experience.
  • Excellent communication and extension skills.
  • Bilingual (French and English).
