About the Role
Nelson Education is seeking a People and Engagement (P&E) Coordinator to report to the Executive Director, People and Engagement, and become an essential part of our team!
As our People and Engagement Coordinator, you'll play a crucial role in identifying, attracting, and selecting exceptional candidates who align perfectly with our company's vision and values. Your responsibilities will include posting job openings, sourcing candidates through various channels, conducting initial screenings, and coordinating interviews. You'll be the bridge that connects talented individuals to rewarding career opportunities within our organization.
Additionally, you'll collaborate closely with our People and Engagement team to ensure a smooth onboarding process for new hires, assisting in the preparation of employment contracts, and maintaining up-to-date applicant records.
Key Accountabilities
HR Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing payroll data and related information, in particular around onboarding and offboarding of employees.
- Provide clerical and administrative assistance to the P&E team.
- Coordinate P&E projects and meetings
- Process and prepare personnel-related documentation and reports.
- Address employee inquiries about P&E policies and regulations.
- Support day-to-day P&E operations and tasks.
Recruitment Responsibilities:
- Assist in sourcing candidates and maintain an updated database.
- Conduct initial candidate screenings and assessments.
- Provide onboarding support to new hires.
- Coordinate communication with candidates and schedule interviews.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to post job roles and utilize Applicant Tracking System (ATS) effectively.
Requirements
- Keen interest in growing in HR and a desire to develop towards an HRBP position.
- HR qualification and a post-secondary education in Human Resource Management would be a plus!
- Detail-oriented approach
- Basic knowledge of recruitment strategies and sourcing techniques
- Proficiency in utilizing Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and other recruitment tools to manage candidate databases efficiently.
- Familiarity with HR policies, regulations, and employment laws
- Previous experience in human resource management, recruitment or similar field
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational abilities
