Position title: People Operations Coordinator
Location: Candidate must be located in Canada or the USA. Our office is located in Toronto, ON, Canada, but role is remote/hybrid/flexible.
Reports to: Head of People
About the Position:
As Practice Better’s People Operations Coordinator, you will be responsible for supporting many aspects of the People function within our scaling organization. You will be the driving force behind our employee experience & operations, ensuring that our employees receive the resources and support to have a meaningful & enjoyable time at Practice Better.

Practice Better operates remote-first, hybrid-optional. We ensure each member of our team is equipped with the necessary tools to perform effectively within the comfort of their own space. However flexibility is important! So if you need to stretch your legs or whiteboard with your team, you can use our beautiful, private downtown Toronto office.

We're counting on you to:
- Collaborate with our Head of People to build our people-data function and further operationalize to support our scale
- Be the point-person for all hiring activity - manage the pipe, screen resumes, conduct first-round interviews, present hiring metrics, etc
- Maintain the people section of our internal company wiki and support any inbound questions
- Continue to build our cultural initiatives with our Head of People (ERGs, perks, benefits)
- Lead the employee onboarding and offboarding processes
- Day-to-day maintenance of US and Canada benefits plans
- Conduct people programs (performance reviews, eNPS survey, etc)
Who you are:
- Basic understanding of Canadian & US employment law
- Openness to being outside of your comfort zone
- You have a growth mindset, you’re naturally curious, and learning & development are very important to you
- You’re comfortable with a high level of accountability and autonomy
- You are comfortable with change and jumping into action
- Collaboration and teamwork are at the core of everything you do
- Familiar/Comfortable with the tools we use: Humi, Lever, Pave, Notion, Groupsource, Deel, Dialogue, etc
- You have experience working across all aspects of the people function at a scaling organization
You will:
- Improve: Our processes and resources involved in the employee lifecycle
- Own: The day-to-day maintenance of our people-related activities
- Teach: Our people programming and offerings to our employees
- Learn: A LOT! There is so much opportunity to learn across all functions of People Operations and onwards
Within:
- 6 months you will: Be our go-to person for all people-related activities. You will be a true hive-mind and our employees will depend on you for support and information.
- 3 months you will: Have your first major win! You will identify a gap, propose a solution and implement your great work.
- 1 month you will: Become a Practice Better expert - you’ll know every single employee, how our platform works, and all the policies & practices currently in place.
