Flocor Inc., is subsidiary of Deschenes Group Inc. and a leader in the industrial pipes, valves and fittings distribution industry. We are searching for a Human Resources Administrator for our Corporate Services location. The successful candidate will be responsible to assure Company compliance in relation to current legislation, for promoting positive employee relations and for providing assistance and guidance to the management team as required/requested. This position will also be responsible for assisting in the administration of various Floor programs and initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in Human Resources and recruiting and will maintain strong relationships with management and fellow coworkers. Computer literacy is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Attend quarterly JHSC meetings and prepare meeting minutes
- Prepare and follow-up on new employee documentation
- Maintaining training records and training incentive program
- Other duties as assigned
- Keep all staff files secure, up-to-date and accurate and transfer to electronic filing
- Collect performance reviews, file and record
- Assist in the revision and maintenance of HR documentation including manuals, guidelines and forms
- Coordinate internal hiring procedures as per Company policies, administers new employee on-boarding program and forward all required hiring documents
- Responsible for preparing and amending where necessary HR documents; employee packages, tracking sheets
- Communicate with candidates and schedule interviews
- Assist with the administration and revisions in the HR/Payroll system
- Conduct pre-telephone interview screening
- Provide support in the recruitment and onboarding of new employees
- Responsible to maintain an understanding of legal requirements, government reporting regulations and collective agreement specifications affecting the human resources function, may assist with preparation of materials required for compliance
- Assist to administer employee training and development, researches needs and opportunities, makes training recommendations, tracks and records training
- Assists with organization of employee functions, including participation on social committee and development of quarterly newsletter
- Coordinate pre-employment verifications according to company procedures
- Complete reference checks, set up criminal record check and health assessment
- Assist with the organization of internal and external training and development activities such as registrations, booking of rooms, printing materials and catering arrangements
- Maintains departmental files and generates reports as required/requested
- Prepare and post internal and external job postings
- Responsible for forming and maintaining employee records
- Assist in the coordination of training and development programs
- Respond to general employee inquiries and assist with any set up
- Monitor training completion rates to ensure compliance with various legislated requirements and expirations. Follow-up on the required training as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent analytical (attention to details), verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be flexible, fair, prompt in responding, and professional
- Minimum 1.5 years experience in the capacity of Human Resources Admin, including combination of education and experience
- Well organized with ability to multi task and work to shifting priorities
- Ability to work with employees at all levels
- Will use good judgement and capable to work under pressure and in a team
- Bilingual (French & English) an asset
- College Diploma preferably supplemented with Human Resources Program Certificate (CHRL)or working towards certification
- Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe)
- Possess high degree of accuracy and attention to detail attitude
- Ability to maintain high level confidential documents and information
- Knowledge of accepted Human Resources and Health and Safety principles, best practices, regulations and legislation
