This is a remote position.


TITLE: IT Service Desk Specialist (Tier 1)


INDUSTRY: Information & Technology


LOCATION: Remote


About the role:


Our client is currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled Service Desk Specialist to join their small but dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be able to focus on providing excellent IT support to their clients by using effectual problem-solving skills and resolve all assigned support requests, while still maintaining a positive and professional attitude when interacting with clients.

Qualifications:


  • Ability to prioritize, multitask and work calmly under pressure
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
  • Desire to learn new IT skills and genuine interest in technology
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and self-motivating
  • Patience in solving technical problems with end users of varying technical aptitudes
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Presents themselves in a highly professional, competent manner
  • Enthusiasm for providing exceptional customer service
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Toronto Police background check is required


Required Technical Skills:


  • Setup and troubleshooting of Firewalls, Switches and VLANs
  • Ability to lift and carry computer equipment
  • Microsoft Windows 10/11
  • Valid G Ontario driver’s license and full access to a reliable vehicle
  • Windows/Mac OS and hardware support
  • Microsoft Office 365 Management
  • Microsoft Server management, including Active Directory
  • Daily maintenance of server backup jobs


Strong Assets:


  • Citrix XenApp
  • Experience at another MSP
  • Microsoft, SonicWALL and Citrix certifications would be considered a strong asset
  • ConnectWise, or other PSA (Professional Services Automation) system
  • HPE ProLiant Server hardware
  • Veeam Backup
  • Automate/Labtech or other RMM (Remote Monitoring and Management) system
  • SonicWALL Firewalls
  • Hosted VoIP Phone Systems


Education and Experience:


  • Ontario Full G driver’s license or equivalent
  • 2-4 years of related experience
  • Degree, diploma or certificate related to information technology
  • IT support: 2 years in an MSP space
