This position will guide the success of strategic outcomes through the direct oversight, leadership and delivery of multi-year strategic programs aligned with segment goals. The role partners across functional areas and departments to ensure strategic objectives achieve intended outcomes. The overall program and associated projects span across financial advice and impacts all major functional areas including sales teams, operations, technology, finance, etc. This job description does not represent a comprehensive listing of job duties that are required of the employee performing this role. People Leader Role: No Essential Responsibilities


Individual Responsibilities


Program Execution


  • Lead and monitor program financials
  • Partner with leaders across the BU to ensure strategic program goals are translated to measurable action plans; communicate and drive action plans balancing resource and funding capacity constraints
  • Ensure financial objectives are met through the active forecasting of requirements; preparing of annual budgets; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions
  • As vital, investigate into specific initiatives/outcomes to remove roadblocks and solve emerging issues (may include facilitation of workshops, analysis of outside partnerships, resource planning, financial management etc.)
  • Lead program management activities such as achievement and impact planning, progress reviews and approvals, ongoing communications, budget planning and management
  • Serve as a thought partner to senior leadership and business partners; drive a client experience focus throughout all programs and challenge teams to innovate beyond current business norms
  • Communicate/present consolidated key insights to Program Sponsors and Senior Management audiences/collaborators that assist in the understanding of overall health and performance of the program, and any required actions or decisions
  • Lead all aspects of all elements of the strategic program, ensure a complete solution is delivered which considers the evolution of roles, process, technology, and data; partner with change management resources to drive business readiness across the organization
  • Drive the strategic initiative(s) fundamental to the success of the business unit (“BU”) strategy in partnership with business sponsors and teams; ensure business benefits are realized within set paraments of time, budget, etc.
  • Develop, empower, mentor and challenge project teams and value streams (indirect reports)
  • Identify and negotiate resources across business units
  • Develop and lead a coordinated plan for the program, ensuring key program metrics and success criteria are developed and achieved for each project within the assigned program
  • Be the primary point of escalation and solutioning for project teams, value streams etc. within assigned program; liaise with business teams, leadership etc. to quickly resolve issues
  • Act as a change agent to build awareness/vision


Collaborator Management


  • Engage teams in visible discussions around progress against assigned program; ensure awareness and understanding via strong relationships enabled by trust
  • Partner closely with Finance professionals to ensure program financials align with targets
  • Partner and collaborate across business and functional teams at all levels


Job Requirements


  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to provide updates to all levels, including senior management
  • Highly self-directed and comfortable thinking through disparate processes, systems, solutions, and areas to leverage enterprise linkages to support successful change
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, or equivalent
  • PMP and/or CSM preferred Decision Authorities:
  • Leading and influencing cross-functional teams and resources
  • Excellent customer focus and commitment to quality while still meeting deadlines
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills to form practical plans. Shown experience as a creative and innovative problem solver with the ability to challenge the status quo to drive significant change

  • Shown experience working with cross-functional agile teams and projects
  • Prioritizing and management of financial plans associated with programs

  • Shown ability to probe for understanding of risks and issues to ensure visibility and supports achievement of business objectives
  • Prioritizing and reprioritizing program and project deliverables aligned with business unit goals
  • Prioritizing and reprioritizing work deliverables
  • Strong ability to presents sophisticated ideas clearly, with an ability to lead the complexities of driving significant change and influence individuals across business boundaries to achieve objectives
  • Shown experience driving innovation within well-established organizations looking to move to the next level of success
  • 10+ years of program management experience
  • Strong financial competence, with an ability to understand key metrics and their relation to business drivers
  • Shown experience leading sophisticated, multi-year programs within the financial services industry ideally in Canadian Financial Advisor area

Salary & Benefits


The annual base salary for this role is listed below.


Primary Location


Toronto, Ontario


Salary range is expected to be between


$100,500.00 CAD - $180,900.00 CAD
