Job Description

As a Talent Management Specialist, you will have the opportunity to be part of a new and exciting Talent function at Armstrong. You will play a critical role in identifying, attracting, developing, and retaining top talent within our organization. Your expertise in talent acquisition, performance management, employee development, and succession planning will contribute to building a skilled and engaged workforce across the globe. You will work closely with HR professionals, department heads, and senior leadership to create and execute effective talent strategies that align with Armstrong business strategy and values.


This position is located in Toronto, Canada.


Key accountabilities for this position are:


Talent Acquisition:


  • Investigate new and improved technology solutions to improve sourcing and recruitment activity (e.g. Applicant Tracking Software).
  • Drive employer branding, ensuring globally consistent messaging on Armstrong’s employee value proposition.
  • Ensure world class candidate experience throughout talent acquisition process.
  • Design and implement a global talent acquisition process, ensuring effective management of the candidate journey from attraction to offer acceptance in a globally consistent way, tailored to local requirements as needed.


Performance Management:


  • Analyze performance data and provide insights for performance improvement.
  • Assist in designing and implementing performance appraisal systems and processes.
  • Facilitate performance evaluation calibrations, ensuring adherence to process and quality of outcome.
  • Provide training and guidance to managers on setting performance goals and conducting evaluations.
  • Assist in designing and implementing potential identification process, allowing Armstrong to identify and develop high potential talent.


Succession Planning:


  • Identify key roles and critical skills required for future success of the business.
  • Identify and develop career pathways to enable development of internal talent.
  • Design and implement system and process for identifying high potential internal talent.
  • Assist in designing and implementing a succession planning program to ensure healthy resourcing levels within the organization.
  • Identify opportunities for career progression for high potential internal talent.
  • Work with business leaders to create individual development plans for high-potential employees to prepare them for future leadership roles.


Talent Analytics:


  • Create and maintain talent-related reports and dashboards for leadership review.
  • Identify trends and opportunities to improve talent management processes.
  • Utilize HR analytics and data-driven insights to make informed talent decisions.


Requirements:


  • Strong knowledge of talent acquisition process best practice, performance management, and organizational capability development practices.
  • Prior experience in Talent Management or Organizational Development.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • A passion for staying updated on industry best practices and trends in talent management.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and talent management software is advantageous.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to derive insights from HR data.
