Director of Finance- KA Group
The Organization

The Role
KA Group is in search of a Director of Finance who will oversee the financial operations of the organization. This role entails offering guidance on operational enhancements when necessary. The Director of Finance will also handle the efficient management of all accounting functions, providing financial advice and analysis to the CFO. Additionally, he will ensure compliance with agreements, contracts, and relevant policies and procedures.
Duties
- Demonstrate excellent leadership skills with a strong aptitude to developing team members to be future leaders.
- Provide strategic leadership of the Corporate Finance & Accounting teams in Canada and in the United States.
- Develop, maintain and update cost accounting models and systems, costs to advise management on price changes in order to maintain and maximize profit margins.
- Lead the development, roll-up and communication of inventory planning activities.
- Manage all aspects of general accounting functions including accounts payable, receivables, collections, payroll, bank reconciliations and group benefits programs as well as fixed asset inventory.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies, including the preparation of all government remittances.
- Develop and implement appropriate accounting and financial reporting systems and processes to support timely and accurate decision making.
- Provide leadership to management with respect to business planning, budgeting and forecasting, and develop sound business models that enhance managements ability to make sound business decisions to meet its longer-term growth objectives.
- Monitoring the effectiveness of internal controls and internal processes as they pertain to financial reporting and cash management.
- Provide oversight of Treasury function, including cash-flow forecasts, liquidity management and external financing needs.
- Maintain the ERP costing system including MOH rates to generate accurate product costs, inventory valuation and variance analysis.
Requirements:
- Adaptable to change and continuously seek out improvements to existing processes.
- 10+ years of progressive manufacturing finance and accounting experience
- Proven ability to integrate strategic business objectives into overall cash management activities
- Professional Accounting Designation (CPA or equivalent)
- Demonstrated ability to deliver change management, systems and process improvements
- Excellent communication skills and ability to convey complex issues to senior management as required
- Strong corporate accounting and financial reporting experience within a manufacturing environment
- Experience working within a complex, multi entity and cross-border environment
- Experience leading, mentoring and coaching teams
