Job Description

Our Client

  • Is a publicly traded tech company providing IT and Cloud Solutions


Responsibilities

  • Undertake ad-hoc projects as assigned
  • Establish, own, and maintain global accounting policies and procedures
  • Ensure timely preparation of all financial information and presentations required for quarterly and annual reports, press releases, and meetings of the Audit Committee and Board
  • Lead the consolidation accounting process across Canada, the US, and European entities
  • Implement new accounting standards and continuously address disclosure requirements as needed
  • Coordinate with the financial reporting function of subsidiaries to ensure accurate and timely monthly closing and financial reporting
  • Manage and review the quarterly tax provision calculation for the regions
  • Serve as the main point of contact for external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits, coordinating requests with all subsidiaries
  • Provide support for the Company's acquisition strategy by participating in the due diligence process as required
  • Assess and document the technical accounting impact and necessary disclosures for significant transactions, such as major contracts, acquisitions, debt and equity offerings, and other complex transactions
  • Prepare Purchase Price Allocations (PPAs) and coordinate fair value calculations
  • Prepare and review consolidated management reporting at month-end
  • Lead the preparation of the MD&A, including conducting comprehensive analysis to support quarterly and annual reports, along with supplemental information
  • Take charge of the Financial Reporting function, ensuring compliance with IFRS and local subsidiary accounting rules, as well as adherence to tax regulations and public reporting requirements
  • Manage the preparation of quarterly and annual consolidated IFRS financial statements, conducting thorough quality assurance checks


Requirements

  • Big Four or National Firm accounting experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Expert knowledge of IFRS accounting rules, extremely well-developed public financial reporting and disclosure experience, including management discussion and analysis
  • Exposure to M&A, multi-currencies, multi-subsidiary consolidation
  • A bachelors’ degree in commerce or accounting and a CPA, CA from public practice
  • Experience with M&A integration
  • Familiarity with NetSuite
  • 8+ years of progressive, hands-on experience in public companies reporting under IFRS
  • Exposure to transfer pricing
  • Experience with high growth and/or highly acquisitive companies
  • Familiarity with local UK and/or Australian statutory reporting requirements
  • Experience in technology sector
  • Experience with SOX controls
