Job Summary
We are searching for a results-driven Account Manager to join our expanding sales team. As the quarterback of the customer you will be responsible for ensuring the client receives the highest level of customer service for commercial accounts. You will be managing an existing book of business from across our portfolio, and as such, it’s imperative that you ensure all renewals and recurring business is not only maintained but you are able to upsell and cross sell our other services in order to add value. The Account Manager is also able to leverage support from our new business hunting team to find new revenue streams as well as our subject matter experts in our services organization. Duties include devising sales plans, managing relationships with our existing clients, maintaining in-depth account profiles on key clients, ensuring on time renewals, accurate forecasting and educating your customers on industry news and innovations.
To ensure success as an Account Manager, you should be adept at market research and skilled in forming long-lasting, mutually-beneficial relationships. An Account Manager will be someone whose customer-oriented approach and sales expertise result in increased profitability. Ultimately, an outstanding Account Manager will keep a close eye on clients' feedback to ensure that our products and services always exceed expectations.
Location: Hybrid in Toronto or WFH for the right candidate
Role & Responsibilities
- Conducting regular market research to maintain an updated knowledge of consumers' needs and competitors' activities.
- Managing your pipeline and forecast in a timely and accurate fashion.
- Partaking in industry events to refine your skills and maintain mutually-beneficial business relationships.
- Traveling to businesses to conduct sales presentations.
- Establishing and nurturing strong relationships with current customers.
- Upselling and cross selling our services on existing renewals and managed services.
- Developing and executing sales plans to meet these quotas.
- Organizing and presenting monthly or quarterly customer business reviews.
- Presenting in-depth reports to the director of sales and other stakeholders, as required.
- Executing and nurturing opportunities via our Account Based Marketing approach.
- Resolving clients' concerns in a timely and amicable manner.
Organizational Alignment
- Enlists the support of sales specialists, implementation resources, service resources, and other sales and management resources as needed.
- Reports to the VP Account Manager
- Works closely with Sales, Customer Success Team, and other departments to ensure customer satisfaction and problem resolution.
- Closely coordinates company executive involvement with customer management.
As our Account Manager, you are a problem solver by nature and have:
- Proven success with meeting quality and timeline standards, and motivated to work with limited supervision to produce quality results and deliver established priorities;
- Professional demeanor and appearance with a flair for polished presentations;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage and influence across all levels of the organization;
- A minimum of 3 years of construction industry exposure with either product manufacturers, wholesale distributors or independent sales rep experience in the plumbing, HVAC, electrical or similar categories
- Superior organizational skills, with the ability or prioritize and manage multiple tasks with accuracy and strong attention to detail;
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate and build rapport with all levels of staff and professionals;
- Willingness to travel - overnight travel is estimated at 15% to 20%;
- Proven analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to quickly learn new concepts/processes;
- A post-secondary degree in a related field with 5+ years of experience managing key accounts in SaaS based technology sales;
