Aviva is currently looking for an Account Engineer to join the Aviva Risk Management Solutions team servicing our Global Corporate Specialty division.
This role is home-based, includes a company car and a balance of account and field engineering with overnight travel of 30%.
What you'll do
As an Account Engineer you will be responsible for providing:
- Develop and maintain professional working relationships with customers, underwriting, claims and broker partners
- Coordinate and monitor loss control activities / servicing of assigned accounts & survey work of assigned accounts.
- Perform desk reviews, virtual and onsite loss control surveys of complex property and high-hazard occupancies
- Maintain and enhance technical skills and expertise in respective field to support the business.
- Provide loss control advice to support and assist our customers and GCS underwriting in risk selection and retention.
- Industry expert risk assessment services for customers and underwriting, by conducting risk assessments at both account and field level to identify and report on the quality of risks in accordance Aviva guidelines.
What you'll bring
- Able to travel within Canada, North America and overseas
- High degree of understanding of complex Loss Scenario Engineering (MFL/PML/NLE).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- 10+ years experience with property loss control of complex and HPR risks.
- Advanced knowledge in performing complex sprinkler, fire pump, water supply and suppression analysis.
- Must be able to work independently as well as with team members
- Engineering degree (preferred) or college diploma in related technical discipline.
- Develop and maintain positive customer and business partner relationships and collaborate with both customers and business partners to develop and market appropriate service plans
- Understanding of North American building/fire codes, NFPA standards and industry recognized standards (Factory Mutual or GE Gaps Guidelines).
- Previous large national and/or global Account Coordination experience with collaborative working relationship with underwriters, brokers and customer personnel.
- Valid driver license
