Job Description

This position is responsible for the continuity of payroll processing for assigned business unit(s) and will be a part of the setup of the HR Operations team in supporting the growth of Rise 2030. The position is an integral part of work to harmonize and standardize processes. This position will work as a part of a regional and global team bringing value and efficiency to HR Operations.

Main responsibilities

Time

  • Work closely with US payroll team to ensure accuracy of information related to US employees of the assigned business unit
  • Provide requested information related to accounting reconciliations and provide general ledger support.
  • Manage and process the bi-weekly payroll and year-end process ensuring compliance with government regulations; monitor records for pay irregularities
  • Support HR Cares service delivery by receiving questions and requests coming from employees and managers via various formats into the case management tool (calls, in person, chat, emails, via portal, etc).
  • Ensure group benefits, pension and RSP are properly recorded in the payroll system Ceridian Dayforce
  • Be an integral team member in supporting HR Operational processes and service delivery by ensuring processes are documented, work instructions are in place and updated regularly
  • Manage the vendor relationship with the payroll provider, monitor their process and service delivery towards program efficacy
  • Maintain employee data in HRIS and payroll systems by recording and processing employee changes such as addresses, positions, salary etc.
  • Assist in evaluation of reports and recommend new approaches and procedures to effect continuous improvements in efficiency
  • Good practical knowledge in Payroll systems including Ceridian Dayforce


Required profile


Functional requirements

  • Working knowledge Microsoft Suite skills; strong Excel skills preferred
  • Knowledge of Canadian benefit programs including health insurance, disability insurance, worker’s compensation insurance, life insurance, and pension plans
  • Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in Accounting or related HR field
  • Knowledge of Federal and Provincial legislation related to pay
  • 4-7 years of experience with payroll and benefits processes
  • Good practical knowledge in Payroll systems including Ceridian Dayforce
  • Knowledge of Ceridian and Day Force payroll platforms
