Payroll and AP Specialist
Reporting to the Controller, the successful candidate for the Accounts Payable and Payroll Specialist role will be responsible for financial, administrative and clerical services in order to ensure effective, efficient and accurate payables processing.
The Accounts Payable and Payroll Specialist will be a self-motivated, detail-oriented and highly organized individual with a desire for continual process improvement.
Job Responsibilities

• Process expense reports
• Prepare daily journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations
• Assist with reporting, if required, by the management and respond to various queries and requests from external auditors
• Assist in preparation of all monthly government remittances in an appropriate and timely manner (GST, PST, WCB, etc)
• Process full-cycle, high volume accounts payable in a timely manner
• Ad hoc tasks as assigned from time to time
• Review invoices and ensure coding is accurate, appropriate approvals have been met, and taxes are properly recorded
• Process payroll for both Canadian and USA-based employees on a semi-monthly basis
• Respond to internal and external Accounts Payable inquiries in a timely manner
• Process payment of invoices in multiple currencies, including preparing weekly payment runs
• Process daily credit cards reconciliations
• Perform daily routines and month end procedures

• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Experience working with ADP and BambooHR would be a strong asset
• Minimum 1 year work experience in an Accounting-related role
• Ability to deal with confidential information with a high degree of diplomacy
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, fluid, high-growth, and collaborative environment
• Ability to maintain integrity in relationships with co-workers and external customers and vendors
• Proficient with Microsoft Windows environment (Word, Excel)
• Ability to multi-task and thrive in a deadline-driven environment
• An entrepreneurial, enthusiastic, and customer service attitude contributing to a friendly, respectful workplace
