General Accountant Jobs

Our client, a global manufacturer, is seeking a General Accountant. In this role, you will have an opportunity to work as part of a close-knit, dynamic team, handling day-to-day accounting functions. Accounting experience in manufacturing combined with your top-notch Excel skills will lay the foundation for your success. Experience, in a manufacturing environment, is required.

Responsibilities: cpa

• Support a significant portion of month-end and year-end accounting
• Ensure all federal and provincial taxes are calculated and remitted on time by reconciling with the Ceridian Payroll Reports
• Assist in the preparation of year-end audits
• Assist with monthly expense allocations between inter companies, to ensure the accuracy of inter-co settlements.
• Responsible for monthly HST and QST filings.
• Support budgeting of Working Capital Items.
• Assist in uploading BPC (reporting application)
• Assist with reconciliations, makes the required adjustments for variances, identifies, and suggest ideas for improvements and automation.
• Issue T4s and T4as after year-end earnings and tax totals are balanced and reported
• Reconcile all bank entries/accounts with the respective ledger balances. Investigates and correct any discrepancies.
• Review and codes Non-PO invoices for temporary help, freight, and all miscellaneous invoices, ensuring adequate accruals are in place for period cut-off.
• Support budgeting of Payroll and expenses.
• Assist with the volume rebate program, calculates rebates for designated distributors, and analyze rebate accruals.
• Participate in the review of balance sheet and expense accounts and provides meaningful comments on the results, recommend solutions to improve the process.
• Strong support during the month-end reporting explaining the variances

Requirements:

• Strong written and communication skills
• Bachelor’s Degree (BA or BS) in Accounting or Finance -required
• CPA certification or in progress is a plus
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel with strong experience in Microsoft ERP is required
• Individuals must be able to work with tight deadlines
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience, in a manufacturing environment
