Intermediate Accountant Jobs

Matchbox Consulting Group is seeking an Intermediate Accountantfor our client in Langley. Our client has deep roots in the community and hasbuilt an excellent reputation.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the IntermediateAccountantwill play a crucial role in facilitating theirongoing growth. This position encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including overseeing daily accounting and finance task.

Responsibilities:

• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring accurate and timely recording of transactions related to construction projects.
• Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to present accurate project financial statuses.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with tax regulations, financial reporting standards, and industry-specific requirements.
• Participate in month-end and year-end closing procedures, contributing to the preparation of financial reports and audits.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities for ongoing and upcoming projects, supporting project managers in financial planning.
• Reconcile project costs, track expenses, and analyze budget variances to ensure cost-effectiveness and project profitability.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the finance department.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping and reporting.
• Strong understanding of construction accounting principles, including job costing and project accounting.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication abilities.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
• Knowledge of relevant accounting standards and regulations
• Working to or possess CPA
