Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join its growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, with a focus on cost accounting and financial reporting. This role will be responsible for managing all accounting operations, including cost accounting, general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation, and budget variance analysis.

The Senior Accountant will be a key player, contributing to the strategic decision-making process by providing accurate and timely financial information.

Job Details

Responsibilities

• Continuously improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, and report variances.
• Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies.
• Manage all aspects of cost accounting, including inventory valuation, cost analysis, and margin reporting.
• Prepare year-end audit files and liaise with external auditors.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of experience as an Accountant, Cost Accountant, or similar role.
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Excellent analytical skills with a thorough understanding of accounting principles and company practices.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
