ABOUT MY CLIENT
My client is a real estate development firm that is owned and operated locally. They specialize in constructing multi-family residential projects in the Metro Vancouver area. Our previous accomplishments include the development of award-winning townhome communities, with our primary focus being on Vancouver and Richmond.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are seeking a Payroll/Accounting Coordinator to join our team. This individual will be responsible for managing the payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate payment of salaries and benefits to employees. Additionally, this person will assist with various accounting duties including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Aid in the reconciliation of bank accounts and credit card statements
- Issue Letters of Employment, Record of Employment (ROE), and T2200
- Determine the chargeable hours and calculate the amount that can be billed to projects.
- Prepare reports for Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) and other corporate filings.
- Process both hourly and salaried payrolls
- Verify the accuracy of timesheets and calculations of hours.
- Review and submit forms for employee benefit enrolment.
- Onboard and set up new staff for payroll purposes.
- Manage and track employee time off requests.
- Provide assistance with the entry of accounts payable invoices, cheque printing, and creation of accounts receivable invoices.
- Fulfill other ad-hoc duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge of payroll laws and regulations
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
- 2+ years of experience in payroll processing and/or accounting
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
COMPENSATION:
- Up to 10% bonus
- Education and growth support
- $55,000-$65,000
