National Human Resources Specialist
Are you a service-focused, detail-oriented, and skilled Human Resources Professional who would like to provide operational support for a variety of HR functions in a remote role with National scope? We’re searching for a generalist for the role of National Human Resources Specialist to support HR operations which include recruitment, onboarding, HRIS administration, recognition, health and wellness, and other HR functions and projects.
In this role, you will become a trusted advisor by providing excellent client service through consultative support and advice to JDRF colleagues and managers on a variety of operational, administrative and strategic HR matters. You’ll also have the opportunity to make your mark as we look for fresh and innovative ways to increase efficiency and enhance existing HR programs to improve engagement.
Here’s what your primary responsibilities would be:
- Implement onboarding program, including supporting hiring managers with information to successfully onboard their new employees, coordinating buddy program for new hires, and coordinating and facilitating bi-monthly orientation sessions as well as HR-specific onboarding sessions
- Benefits administration for employee benefits and building relationships with benefits providers to be able to escalate and resolve issues as needed
- Complete weekly/monthly deliverables including processing HR invoices, preparing internal communications and updating HR Metrics and organizational charts
- Provide an exceptional candidate experience and manage full-cycle recruitment, including partnering with hiring managers to define their needs, creating job ads, screening resumes, conducting phone screens, scheduling and participating in interviews, providing valuable insight on hiring recommendations and facilitating offer and background check/references process
- Implement employee recognition program, including coordination support for annual employee awards
- Become a subject matter expert on the HRIS (EmployerD) and execute employee transactions each payroll period, provide system troubleshooting support to employees, and fulfill reporting requirements
- Lead assigned health, safety and wellness initiatives organization-wide, suggesting new and innovative ways to increase engagement of the Health and Wellness program
- Support annual and new HR initiatives, including EDI strategy and programming, annual performance/salary review processes and year-end activities
Here’s what we’re looking for:
Knowledge/Skills/Experience
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management; post-graduate certificate in HR is preferred with a minimum of 3-5 years’ generalist HR experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- CHRP/CPHR candidate is preferred
- Applied experience in Microsoft Office 365 in a professional setting, including experience with calendar management in Outlook, and working in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Aptitude for technology and ability to quickly navigate new programs; experience with applicant tracking system(s) and an HRIS is an asset
- Bilingual in English and French is an asset
- Full-cycle recruitment experience, including partnering with hiring managers to conduct interviews; experience coordinating interviews across multiple time zones
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and previous experience corresponding with a variety of internal and external stakeholders over video, phone and email in a professional setting
