About the Role

Reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources, the Manager, Human Resources oversees activities related to Human Resources (“HR”) management within the corporate office. The Manager is involved in all aspects of the Corporate HR function, including quantitative analysis and reporting, compensation management and business partnering on HR related issues, policies, and programs. This role requires an excellent combination of analytical and business partnering skills.


The Manager, HR works in close collaboration with managers and employees in the corporate office as well as HR colleagues across the global operations of Brookfield Renewable to help meet the needs of the business and support the development and implementation of corporate HR initiatives.


More specifically, the Manager, HR has the following responsibilities:


Key Responsibilities


HR Analytics and Reporting

  • Work with the Corporate team on global HR reporting requirements to support business needs in areas such as workforce planning, financial analysis, Environmental, Social and Governance (“ESG”), corporate communications, compliance and year-end disclosure;
  • Collect information, prepare and analyze reports using data from different sources, including the Human Resources Information System, coordinate and consolidate global reports;
  • Support the annual budget preparation and partner with the Finance team to create monthly and quarterly forecasting reports;
  • Address various information requests from different functions across the organization.

Compensation Management

  • Administer Brookfield Renewable’s long term incentive plans, including managing the granting process, maintaining records in the system used for LTIP administration and implementing changes as required;
  • Participate in compensation initiatives, including completing salary surveys, interpreting data and supporting the design and implementation of compensation structures;
  • Support global executive compensation planning across Brookfield Renewable and the annual year end compensation process within the Corporate Office;
  • Support the development of long-term incentive plans.
  • Provide analytical support for the execution and administration of compensation programs;

HR Business Partner

  • Support the implementation of HR initiatives within the Corporate group and globally, such as the design, implementation and administration of an engagement survey.
  • Provide advice to employees and managers in the Corporate Office on HR related matters;
  • Partner with managers on talent management processes and initiatives, including onboarding, engagement, talent reviews, performance management, training and development;
  • Work closely with managers in defining their resource requirements and partnering with the talent acquisition team to manage the recruitment process;


Knowledge and Experience Required

  • Hold a university degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or in a related field;
  • Advanced Excel skills required; experience in developing and maintaining complex spreadsheets;
  • Experience in gathering and analyzing data, and preparing reports to address business information requests;
  • Experience working with Human Resources Information Systems.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience in a Human Resources role in private sector organizations;
  • Experience in managing compensation programs, including short-term and long-term incentive plans;
  • Experience in HR functions such as planning, recruitment, performance management and development;

  • A team player; ability to adapt to different styles and to develop cooperative relationships with employees at all levels in the organization;
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in English; French is considered an asset.
  • Results-oriented and problem solver; ability to “roll up” her/his sleeves and get involved at a detailed level to ensure that appropriate solutions are delivered in a timely way;
  • High attention to details and focus on quality of output;
