Part time HR/Office Manager
We are looking for an intelligent, creative and driven part time HR/Office Manager to help evolve many aspects of our internal, employee-related processes. As the part time HR/Office Manager, you’ll be reporting directly to the CEO, and working independently on all areas of the HR and Office Operation Management. In this role you will play a critical part in making sure the 500px team members are taken care of. As such, you will need to be an approachable and trustworthy person.
You will be a great fit for this role if:
- You can commit to an average of 20-30 hours per week in a hybrid working environment
- You can commit to a monthly in-office team meeting
- You have a minimum of 2 years of HR experience within a start-up and/or tech company
- You are process-oriented with analytical thinking and obsessive attention to detail
- You have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and are approachable with an ‘open door policy’
HR/Office Manager Responsibilities:
- Prepare written human resources correspondence
- Respond to employee questions and complaints
- Oversee the analysis of employee data and information
- Manage contracts
- Provide staff members with information regarding human resources policies and procedures when required
- Liaise with building management and vendors
- Manage and maintain group benefits administration
- Coordinating team events and schedules
- Maintain the working condition of the office space
- Coordinate recruitment activities (posting jobs, resume review, organizing interviews, reference checks)
- Provide administrative support to the Company.
- Assists with the preparation of HR metrics
- Coordinate staff onboarding activities (prepare orientation packages and communications)
- Manage insurance renewals, third parties vendor relationships
- Assist in employee relations matters and employee engagement initiatives as required
- Oversee payroll administration
- Ensures all human resources documents are filed and stored in an orderly manner
- Assist with tracking and updating human resources information, including performance reviews, training & development, staff movement, etc.
- Coordinate training activities in conjunction with managers
Our Ideal Candidate:
- 2+ years of relevant HR experience is required
- Expert in Canadian Employment Laws and compliances
- Experience with diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds, you fully embody inclusiveness and diversity in the workplace
- Experience in managing the HR needs of a remote/hybrid workforce environment where team members are allocated in different time zones and locations
- Experience with BambooHR and Ceridian Payroll
- You’re highly motivated and lively
- Experience in managing HR in a tech company or tech industry. Understand how tech startups function and its unique HR(recruiting, training, retention etc) needs.
- Bonus: Good understanding of different tech roles such as full stack developer vs front end developer, Java vs Javascript dev, Product manager vs project manager,etc a definite plus.

Interview Process
- Phone screen: < 30 min conversation with a hiring manager
- Hiring manager interview: 1 hour on Zoom
- Team interviews: 2-3 hours on Zoom where you'll e-meet multiple members of our team, including our CEO and Senior Leadership Team
