The Opportunity - HR ANALYST


As the HR Analyst, you will support a 4E (Exception Employee Experiences Everyday) by providing a high level of customer service to primarily internal customers in a virtual environment in alignment with FreshBooks’ policies and objectives as well as our values, and through a DIBs (Diversity Inclusion and Belonging) lens.


Reporting to the Sr Manager, Talent Operations and Experience, the primary focus of this position is the management and maintenance of the human resource management system (HRMS) in addition to other systems supported by the HR Operations team. This position serves as a main point of contact for HR, ensuring timely and accurate entry of data, data integrity, system training, testing of system changes, report writing and analyzing data flows for process improvement opportunities. The HR Analyst partners with leaders in HR to solve business challenges by leveraging process, technology and systems expertise. This role balances operational support and project work.


What You'll Do as an HR Analyst:


  • Produce ongoing and ad hoc reporting of key HR metrics from HR systems (e.g., headcount, attrition)
  • Coordinates with global HR team members including Payroll on appropriate personnel and pay changes within HR and ensure data integrity and compliance in all relevant jurisdictions
  • Creates guidelines documentation of all system configurations, acts as the data expert for standardization and integration throughout the organization, ability to analyze, recommend and develop reporting
  • This position serves as a main point of contact for HR, ensuring timely and accurate entry of data, data integrity, system training, testing of system changes, report writing and analyzing data flows for process improvement opportunities
  • The primary focus of this position is the management and maintenance of the human resource management system (HRMS) in addition to other systems supported by the HR Operations team
  • The HR Analyst also supports upgrades, patches, testing and other technical projects as assigned
  • Manages the data entry and record-keeping of employment data and within HR solutions, maintaining employee records (payroll, time off, benefits, personal information)
  • Prepare employee related documentation (e.g employment letters, transfers & promotions etc.) Issue and amend ROEs for Canadian Employees
  • Partners with other HR team members to ensure we meet government reporting obligations
  • Manage the documentation of business processes to ensure the team develops and implements solutions that meet business needs
  • Maintains system security access control by creating roles and granting permission
  • Support integration of employee data for employees acquired via periodic M&A activity
  • Designs and prepares reports for employee data contained in the HR in response to requests from users within Human Resources and from users in other departments
  • Manages all policies, employee acknowledgements, and electronic employee personnel files within HR


What You'll Bring To The Role


  • Detail oriented mindset
  • Minimum 3-5 years expertise with HR systems (BambooHR preferred)
  • Strong experience of Zendesk.
  • Proficiency with Office Suite and G-Suite
  • Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem solving
  • Excellent time management capabilities, including the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Excellent communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills required
  • HR Administration experience
