Director, Brand & Content


Job location: This is a remote position. You can work from home and be located anywhere in Canada or the United States.


About The Team


Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Corporate Marketing, the Director of Brand & Content will guide the development of our brand strategy, brand pillars, and brand campaigns to create awareness and differentiation for Kinaxis in the market. He/she will also oversee our content strategy, ensuring we create the right stories, assets and formats that connect with our buyer in support of new and expansion business.


As an expert storyteller, this individual will work closely with the Creative Team and across Marketing and the wider organization to develop experiences that deeply connect with our key audiences and inspire, build trust and showcase the incredible work we’re doing at Kinaxis.


What you will do


  • Partners across Marketing to execute plans to drive awareness and generate leads, increase brand loyalty through customer retention, and achieve growth objectives.
  • Leads the strategic evolution of the Kinaxis brand strategy, including purpose, position and personality
  • Acts as a trusted advisor throughout the organization, sharing expertise on what drives brand performance and provides guidance on how to accelerate growth/impact on our long-term plans.
  • Owns brand positioning, messaging, and visual identity - driving awareness and relevancy while ensuring consistency across channels and efforts
  • Coordinate with analytics, digital marketing, and media to test and optimize content including SEO and search results
  • Manages and guides design and creative development to ensure a consistent and recognizable look and feel, working with creative teams to develop internal guidelines and brand assets to enable the organization to execute against the brand.
  • Works across Marketing to plan and oversee advertising activities in support of brand awareness.
  • Manages internal and agency resources to create big, bold brand activations as well as marketing campaign needs.
  • Translate brand strategy and activation activities into compelling content opportunities by identifying themes and hooks to build internal and external audience engagement
  • Designs and leads the development of a thought leadership platform and associated content that distinguishes the company in the market.
  • Establishes brand measurement system to measure and optimize awareness, perception and preference with associated KPIs.

Primary Skills And Qualifications


  • Proven ability to thrive in a high energy, fast paced environment where tactical and strategic activities are expected to be driven in parallel
  • Proven people-management and coaching skills
  • 10+ years progressive experience in brand management within complex organizations
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field
  • Strong collaboration and negotiation skills with ability to influence and gain support across the organization
  • Works with a sense of urgency, highly responsive in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated success leading teams and establishing effective working relationships with executives globally across the organization
  • Problem solver, change champion, and passionate about delivering results
  • Excellent communicator with proven ability to clearly convey complex ideas and data in written, presentation, and spoken formats to a variety of audiences
  • Ability to lead complex projects


Role-specific Skills And Experience


  • Proven experience with integrated, personalized B2B campaigns
  • Proven ability to develop content strategies that increase consideration and drive demand including personas, insights, compelling messaging strategy, journey maps, content touch points, asset development, measurement and optimization
  • Strong understanding and experience with website, search engine marketing, social media, newsletter, paid and earned media measurement
  • Strategic thought leadership, content, brand and storytelling experience
