Job Summary
This role requires an innovative and highly motivated experienced professional to lead the brand, creative and digital teams within the Marketing team. Reporting to the Vice President, Marketing, the Director, Brand and Digital Marketing plays a crucial role within the Marketing leadership team in oversight of all brand initiatives, digital marketing channels, with a strong emphasis on growing brand awareness, enhancing customer experience, and driving business growth. This role requires demonstrated expertise in financial products, market analysis, and strategic planning, as well as exceptional leadership and communication skills.
Strategy & Planning (30%)
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify target audience and competitors, and use this information to shape brand strategies.
- Monitor and analyze market trends and consumer behavior to identify opportunities for brand growth and adaptation.
- Develop and implement a cohesive brand strategy that aligns with the organization's overall business objectives, driving brand awareness, customer loyalty, and business growth.
- Define and communicate the brand positioning, values, and messaging to internal and external stakeholders.
Creative Direction (25%)
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to translate marketing strategies into compelling and effective brand initiatives.
- Oversee and guide the work of the creative team in creating and executing marketing campaigns and initiatives that effectively communicate the brand's message to the target audience, ensuring brand consistency across all material.
- Manage and protect the organization's brand identity, including visual elements such as logos, fonts, and colors.
Digital Marketing (25%)
- Developing a comprehensive digital marketing strategy aligned with the company's overall business goals and objectives.
- Oversee the digital team in analyzing campaign performance and customer data to evaluate the success of digital marketing efforts. Report the results to the management team and suggesting improvements based on data insights.
- Guide the digital team in planning, executing, and optimizing digital marketing campaigns across various channels such as search engine marketing (SEM), social media marketing, email marketing, content marketing, etc.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest digital marketing technologies, tools, and trends. Leveraging these as appropriate
Team Leadership & Budget Management (20%)
- Manage budget and resource allocation - managing the digital marketing budget and allocating resources effectively to achieve maximum ROI and results.
- Manage and lead a team of creatives and digital marketing professionals to ensure effective implementation of strategies and achieve desired results.
- Develop and manage the brand and digital marketing budgets on behalf of the marketing department and our line of business partners.
- Estimate and forecast expenses, negotiate with suppliers, monitor expenditures, track costs and ensure cost-effective delivery of high-quality campaigns and collateral.
- Foster a culture of creativity, innovation, and teamwork within the marketing department.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and feedback to team members.
- Promote continuous learning and professional development within the team.
Required Qualifications
- Education Requirement: Post-secondary degree or diploma in marketing (University Degree an asset)
Years of Experience:
- Design and/or writing experience preferred
- Strong financial product and service knowledge
- Financial services (mortgage) industry, alternative lending and broker channel preferred
- Strong understanding of brand
- 7+ years in marketing
