POSITION SUMMARY
Armed with a new brand identity and strategic plan, the newly created role of Senior Manager, Brand and Communications will support the strategic development, brand positioning and execution of CHS’s national brand marketing and communication strategy. We have a unique story to tell and are looking for a courageous and creative leader who will embrace this challenge and champion our brand efforts.
Reporting to the Vice-President, Digital and Brand Marketing, the Senior Manager will be accountable for the development, delivery and measurement of all brand marketing and communications campaigns, leveraging earned, owned and paid channels. This will include social media, events and sponsorship, corporate communications, media and PR. She/he/they will also lead our Creative Services Team to develop multi-media content that brings our brand vision to life and supports the growth of both our for-profit and not-for-profit business.
A strong team player, we are seeking someone who is focused on putting the client at the centre of everything they do, and who takes an interest in understanding the unique needs of CHS clients who come from the Deaf and hard of hearing communities. The successful candidate will be creative, adaptable and have superior communications skills and a high degree of attention to detail. Most importantly, the successful candidate must a team player. A KPI-focused leader who is results oriented, and analytical, and always seeking to apply external and internal learning to optimize brand marketing and communication campaigns. A skilled leader and motivator who will builds, trains and support a team who can deliver best-in-class communications and brand campaigns into the market.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support integrated marketing campaigns by overseeing the development of content such as print and digital ads, video, blog articles, brochures, eBooks, and newsletters.
- Events: Develop and lead event brand strategy to maximize brand awareness and client engagement. This includes the development of marketing materials, booth branding, and overseeing the development of promo materials.
- Create and manage the on-location branding approach and assets for our Hearing Clinics.
- Brand champion: Support building and maintaining consistent brand messaging and directly manage communications activities that promote, enhance, and protect the organization’s brand purpose across multiple channels including:
- Employee engagement and Employee Value Proposition (EVP): Leverage creative and communications tools to help build and support the CHS company culture but highlighting the brand purpose and bringing the employee value proposition to life.
- Manage Creative Services and Corporate Communications
- Liaise and collaborate with sales teams, agencies as required, HR, members of the M&C and fundraising teams, and other internal programs and departments to assist in identifying and meeting their marketing needs.
- Development of brand guidelines and rollout plan. Ensure that brand marketing initiatives and campaigns reflect consistent messaging in keeping with CHS brand essence, standards, vision, and mission.
- Internal brand communications: Brand guidelines. Printed brand material – e.g., PPTs, all brand collateral.
- Manage and monitor the creative request intake process and ensure projects are delivered on time, on brand, and on budget.
- Lead the development of social media strategy. High knowledge of digital social media best practices and channels. Experience leveraging various digital and social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, X (Twitter), YouTube, TikTok) and the associated analytic tools to measure effectiveness,
- Manage brand and communications budget.
- External: Social media strategy, PR, events and trade booths, internal creative services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A natural ability to story-tell.
- Deep understanding of branding, marketing trends, storytelling.
- Exceptional ability to develop interpersonal relationships, foster teamwork, and negotiate in a diverse and fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
- University degree in marketing, communications, or public relations, journalism or related degree. Digital marketing certification considered an asset.
- Superior written and oral communications skills required. French is an asset.
- Minimum 7 years’ work experience in brand marketing with particular focus on brand stewardship, creative brand development, media/PR, and social media.
- Strong leader, with track record of building teams, developing people to optimize skills, motivating team members to produce their best.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with financial data and understand business models to drive decision-making and opportunity assessment.
- Ability to think ‘outside the box’ creative and critical thinker.
