About CAST:

CAST Software has been in business for over 25 years, and today we deliver the modelling, design and previsualization software tools of choice to professionals in the lighting design and events & entertainment production industries. You will be part of the team which provides technical installation, support, and QA to the customers who use our award-winning products. wysiwyg, the first 3D lighting previsualization software ever developed, continues to be a leader in its market today and is used around the world. Vivien, our Event Planning software, offers planning and previsualization tools customized for event planning professionals. BlackTrax, a real-time 6D tracking system that tracks actors, objects, and props in order to control moving lights, media servers and projection, spatial audio, robotic cameras, and more. You may have seen the results of our software’s contributions in productions like the Olympics Opening/Closing Ceremonies, the Super Bowl halftime shows, Eurovision Song Contests, Dancing with the Stars, various Cirque du Soleil and Disney shows, in concerts such as U2, Muse, Goo Goo Dolls, The Chainsmokers and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, or even for the architectural lighting of Buckingham Palace for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012 and in our own city for the Bloor Viaduct (for the Toronto 2015 PanAm games), just to name a few.



About the Position:


Working with stakeholders externally and internally across, Sales, Product and Operations, the Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible and accountable for marketing activities and implementation of marketing strategies.


The incumbent will create, implement, and manage activities such as email marketing, advertising, events, PR and social media campaigns in alignment with company goals. Balancing exceptional creativity, attention to detail with a desire to see projects through from inception to delivery in a timely manner they will communicate across all mediums and translate complex or technical information to appeal to the Company’s targeted audiences.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Attend conferences and tradeshows, participating and preparing engaging displays and collateral as needed.
  • Investigate customer demand for the Company’s products and services.
  • Identify effectiveness and impact of current initiatives and optimize accordingly.
  • In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, from time to time, the incumbent may be required to perform other duties as reasonably assigned.
  • Delegate effectively.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and projects.
  • Stay connected with industry trends beyond the walls of the Company and share knowledge and experience with team members.
  • Establish positioning, identify target audience, and develop marketing plans.
  • Maintain regular meetings with sales to review pipeline, resolve challenges and present possible solutions.
  • Celebrate and rewards success.
  • Update and maintain website content.
  • Support diversity and encourage innovation.
  • Build brand awareness and positioning.
  • Support a work environment conducive to achievement and growth.
  • Motivate, develop, and manage performance of a diverse workforce, in line with Company values and goals to ensure the best results.
  • Ensure all marketing material adheres to brand guidelines.
  • Gather customer and market insights to increase customer conversions and generate leads.
  • Support internal communication activities, including sharing marketing activities and project successes with employees.
  • Measure and report performance of marketing campaigns, assessing against goals and ROI.
  • Obtain necessary consent and final approval on all marketing products and promotions.
  • In collaboration with internal and external teams, develop and produce marketing materials, including but not limited to, email and advertising campaigns, presentations, brochures, educational webinars, product sheets, case studies, press releases, social media content, and tradeshow booth material.
  • Inform the VP of Marketing, Sales and Product teams on consumer buying behavior and feedback to guide strategic direction for product.



Education and Experience Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, communications or relevant field
  • Up-to-date knowledge of live event industry and trend
  • Master’s degree in marketing or related field
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a senior marketing position
  • Working knowledge of content production and web technology

Location:


CAST is located at 35 Ripley Avenue, Suite 1 on the southwest side of Toronto, ON. You can drive, or take TTC (Queen streetcar to South Kingsway and walk a block, or the subway to Runnymede and a short bus ride), or bike it in the summer.
