As a Senior Manager of Marketing & Communications, you will be creating and developing the marketing and communications strategy that drives greater awareness of the Bank and builds on its brand to maximize the growth of the Bank.This is a permanent full-time position. We are open to hybrid or in-office at one of our main office locations in Saskatoon or Vancouver. These locations are on First Nations land.Here’s what you’ll be doing:
  • Demonstrate ongoing commitment to delivering outstanding stakeholder management, building credibility with the senior management team to be viewed as a trusted marketing advisor
  • Communicate regularly with key internal stakeholders, identifying priorities and responding to communication and customer service needs
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Marketing), Journalism, Communications, Commerce or related field
  • Develop or assist with special events and fundraising activities
  • Collaborate with IT to optimize the use of digital communication vehicles
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills
  • Demonstrate ongoing improvement in marketing return on investment through impact measuring and the reporting process
  • Oversee and coordinate the creation and publication of advertisements through appropriate media outlets
  • Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and time-management skills to be able to meet multiple deadlines
  • Build and maintain a proficiency in marketing planning, traditional, online and interactive media, media relations, sponsorships and events, business development, and ongoing relationship marketing
  • Serve as editor of all online tools, including social media platforms, e-newsletters, website and intranet content
  • Identify gaps in communication and make appropriate recommendations
  • Extensive knowledge of a broad range of successful communications techniques, strategies and systems
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with people (of all levels) sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally
  • Understanding of data management, client segmentation strategy and data visualization platforms (Power BI, Tableau)
  • Drive employee engagement and a culture of belonging through enhanced information sharing and communication strategies
  • Generate effective campaigns and tactics to support business strategies and overall organizational awareness
  • Draft press releases and/or key messages to assist with media requirements
  • Understand FNBC’s business, internal stakeholders, client relationships and key internal customers
  • Manage brand guidelines and elements, and oversee brand development
  • Ability to work well under pressure, individually, and as part of a team while balancing multiple demands
  • Knowledge of media and community resources
  • Advanced knowledge of digital marketing, Social Media and applicable software programs

  • Foundational understanding of business development principles, account management planning and pursuit strategy in professional services
  • Analyze the effectiveness of marketing strategies and plans, and make adjustments or recommend improvements to drive continuous improvement
  • Develop industry relationships with organizations and their respective marketing departments, and attend industry events, workshops, and conferences
  • Creative graphic design and development proficiency
  • Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders to grow the brand of the Bank
  • Member of International Association of Business Communicators or Canadian Public Relations Society is an asset
  • Coordinate production of FNBC external and internal branded communication and promotion materials
  • Understanding of Banking industry and the Indigenous business industry
  • Build strong working relationships and communicate regularly with a variety of team members
  • Five (5) years’ experience working in a related role
