HOURS: 35 hours per week (Monday-Friday with occasional evening and/or weekend hours) REPORTS TO: Vice President, Communications & Stakeholder Engagement

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and implement comprehensive marketing and branding strategies to promote Skills for Change's mission, vision, and programs across various channels and platforms.

• Manage and oversee the organization's brand identity and ensure consistency in messaging and visual elements across all marketing materials.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:

• Strong all-round written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to write and speak in a second language is considered an asset (French, Hindi, Farsi, Yoruba, Swahili, Chinese etc).

• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collectively in a diverse and dynamic team environment.

• Conduct market research and analysis to identify target audiences, market trends, and competitive positioning, and use insights to inform marketing strategies.

• Create and manage the production of compelling marketing collateral, including brochures, flyers, digital ads, social media content, videos, and presentations.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and execute effective branding initiatives, ensuring brand guidelines are followed consistently.

• Monitor and evaluate marketing and branding campaign performance, utilizing analytics and metrics to measure success and make data-driven decisions for optimization.

• Build and maintain relationships with external partners, media outlets, and influencers to enhance Skills for Change's brand visibility and reach.

• Oversee the organization's digital presence, including website content, social media channels, and online advertising campaigns.

• Develop and implement strategies to effectively showcase the impact of Skills for Change's programs and services through compelling storytelling and data-driven evidence.

• Collaborate with program teams and participants to collect success stories, testimonials, and case studies that demonstrate the positive outcomes and transformative experiences resulting from Skills for Change's initiatives.

• Create engaging content, such as blog posts, articles, and social media campaigns, to highlight the stories of individuals impacted by Skills for Change and effectively communicate the organization's mission and values.

• Oversee the production of multimedia content, including videos and podcasts, that capture and amplify the personal narratives and journeys of Skills for Change's beneficiaries.

• Develop and maintain a repository of impact data, testimonials, and success stories to support marketing and fundraising efforts. • Collaborate with the Development team to integrate impact storytelling into grant proposals, donor communications, and fundraising campaigns.

• Identify opportunities to showcase Skills for Change's impact at conferences, community events, and speaking engagements, leveraging storytelling as a powerful tool for advocacy and awareness.

• Analyze and measure the effectiveness of impact storytelling initiatives, using data and feedback to refine strategies and optimize outcomes.

• Lead and mentor a team of marketing professionals, providing guidance, support, and ongoing professional development opportunities to foster a high-performing and collaborative team culture.


QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.

• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in marketing and branding, preferably in the nonprofit sector or a social impact organization.

• Demonstrated experience in developing and executing successful marketing and branding strategies across multiple channels.

• Proven leadership and management skills, with a track record of effectively leading and motivating a team.

• Strong understanding of branding principles and the ability to develop and maintain a consistent brand identity.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages and storytelling.

• Proficiency in using marketing and design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, content management systems, social media management platforms, and analytics tools.

• Experience in conducting market research and using data-driven insights to inform marketing strategies.

• Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
