Job Description

This is an opportunity with Canada’s leading wholesale and Cash & Carry business for vaping and smoking accessories products. They are a young, thriving company that is looking for a micro-entrepreneur / go getter Assistant Brand Manager to join the marketing team.


Our customer is looking for a self starter who is able to identify opportunities and see them through for strong business results. He/she would enjoy empowerment to impact change and work in a startup culture by wearing multiple hats. Strong business acumen, curiosity, people skills, savvy communications, and an analytical, solution-oriented mindset would lead to success in this role. Our team members are not afraid to roll up their sleeves, dive into solving problems and seizing opportunities with the team.


The Assistant Brand Manager will oversee the route to market strategy implementation of all Internal brands or new brands, including but not limited to other brands and products that are identified to fit into company business strategy. This includes everything involved from planning and executing of go-to-market strategies (Digital Assets, Media kits, POSM materials, PR collaborations etc). Core responsibilities will include creating project networks, coordinating with internal and external subject matter experts to ensure projects are executed as planned.


Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities


The Assistant Brand Manager’s responsibilities/accountabilities include:


  • Work closely with the Head of Brand Marketing and other department managers to develop and execute on brand strategies and plans to achieve the company’s & department’s objectives.
  • Create engaging presentations and present new learnings and market intel to cross-functional departments and key stakeholders to evolve our operations framework.
  • Oversee the marketing brand campaigns development process from research, ideation, planning, development and execution of digital assets, content for email campaigns, in-store merchandising, PR & SEO of company brands.
  • Collaborate with sales, operations and external partners on merchandising and guide the creation of point-of-sale materials to increase brand awareness and exposure.
  • Work on brand awareness initiatives through both digital and traditional marketing channels.
  • Collaborate on digital marketing initiatives such as social media, websites, and campaigns to on our internal and customers digital pages to improve on brand awareness of company brands.
  • Be a brand ambassador at tradeshows, events, market visits and conferences as required.
  • Manage the brand planning calendar; coordinate cross-functional activities and plan processes, manage timelines, and ensure timely completion of all deliverables.
  • Strategize and oversee product roadmaps and go-to-market launch strategies and conduct post-mortem analyses to measure effectiveness and to refine tactics.


Required Qualifications


  • Business acumen, strong communication, presentation, and cross functional collaboration skills
  • 1-2 years working experience in marketing/brand management, category management or related experience including brand innovation and brand activation (experiential marketing)
  • Language proficiency in Mandarin
  • Self-Starter: You are comfortable taking action without significant direction but also confident enough to be able to engage leadership at key points to gain alignment and assistance where needed
