Job responsibilities:

Reporting to the Brand Manager, the Associate Brand Manager will play a key role in defining and executing the brand strategy and vision – including working with key cross functional teams and agency partners, identification of key consumer and business issues and insights, brand planning, packaging, activations, promotions and advertising. They will also demonstrate business leadership by managing brands as a business - managing P&L, financial measures and ongoing budget management; recognize opportunities to improve brand and business health and make recommendations accordingly; and demonstrate excellent execution of brand initiatives in collaboration with sales and field marketing teams.

  • Share program results and key learnings from research ensuring capture of feedback from Trade Marketing Managers, Provincial Sales Directors, and Business Analysis team
  • Assist with projects for product packaging updates in WebCentre system
  • Support with agency partner and vendor relationship management - creative brief development, budget management, etc.
  • Contribute to monthly brand updates and business reviews
  • Analyze key business metrics - Monthly brand performance review (value and volume share, competitive activity), compile insights and synthesize data into clear and compelling storylines with actionable recommendations
  • Where applicable, work with Trade Marketing Managers to regionalize national brand programming and deliver custom regional programs
  • Support the Brand Specialists in the ideation, development and procurement of assets to develop meaningful programs with key On-Premise partners
  • Manage, develop and coordinate all trade promotion materials (sell sheets, educations tools, etc.) for both retail and On-Premise
  • Be the brand custodian for Canada, ensuring brand strategies are clearly communicated, upheld and executed with excellence, educating and correcting where necessary to promote commercial excellence principles
  • Work closely with Provincial Sales Teams to ensure flawless activation at the local level
  • Manage A&P and Trade budgets, forecasting, SAP (purchase requisitions, purchase orders), vendor invoices and ROI evaluation and LE process and in a timely fashion and in line with strategy
  • Work directly with compliance manager to ensure all activity meets national regulatory, legal and Beam Suntory marketing code
  • Develop elements of brand plans, with coaching from Brand Manager


Qualifications & experience:

• Minimum 2 years marketing experience, CPG experience an asset

• Degree in Business or Marketing preferred

• Must thrive in a fast-paced environment

• High level of accountability, flexibility and self-direction, coupled with eagerness to learn and take direction from leaders as appropriate

• Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross functional departments, primarily sales and finance

• Availability to travel – approximately 10% or as needed
