This role is based out of the Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto, Canada's newest and largest casino resort opened in June 2023. The $1 billion landmark entertainment destination features 328,000 sq. ft. of gaming space, 400-room hotel, indoor pool, wellness and fitness area, multiple dining options, private event and flexible meeting space, and 5,000-person live entertainment venue in association with Live Nation, which will play host to the best in live music, comedy, and special events. Position Summary:
Under the general direction of the Chief Marketing Officer, this position will be responsible for implementing marketing promotions and strategies, communications and promotional events at four casinos and resorts including the largest in Canada: Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto, Pickering Casino Resort, Great Blue Heron Casino & Hotel, and Casino Ajax. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer of Great Canadian Entertainment, this position will also assist in executing social media plans and advertising campaigns to support the properties gaming and entertainment initiatives.
Key Accountabilities:
- Works with and assists other Great Canadian Entertainment properties with the project management of Marketing/Promotional initiatives;
- Liaising and communicating effectively with all appropriate operational departments;
- Executing property level event programming and online promotion plans, including all associated collateral on and off site;
- Oversees content and site level social media efforts to include casino promotions, food and beverage, entertainment;
- Working within the sites’ brand standards and guidelines;
- Ensuring compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations;
- Developing strategies to leverage and maximize loyalty program(s);
- Developing and cultivating strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, ownership, employees, vendors and regulators;
- Performing other duties as required.
- Monitoring and updating the site marketing/advertising budgets; reporting variances on a monthly basis;
- Spearheading research driven initiatives to effectively inform marketing efforts, including situational and competitive analysis and consumer insights;
- Work with the Operations in drafting annual site marketing plans and budgets;
- Coordinate with the Operations on web site, digital campaigns and email direct marketing;
- Managing advertising campaigns for the properties as directed;
- Planning, managing and implementing site marketing programs, including all of the details throughout a promotion, campaign or special event (e.g. staff incentives, prize packages, supplier commitments, advertising, direct mail, property décor, collateral placement, auditing, etc.);
Education and Qualification Requirements:
- Strong computer skills in MS Office Suite such as Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, advanced levels an asset specifically in ROI and analysis;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with excellent interpersonal skills
- Experience with guest- or consumer-centric organizations (e.g., hospitality, hotels, food & beverage, entertainment, tourism, gaming, agencies, retail, packaged goods);
- Minimum 4 years of marketing experience; 2 years of gaming or hospitality experience preferred;
- Organized and efficient with a strong work ethic.
- Post-secondary education in marketing, tourism, hospitality, public relations, advertising or business management required;
- Proven track record influencing peers and management;
- Excellent ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively;
- Proven sales and marketing experience in hotel or food/beverage industry is a major asset;
- Strong team player and collaborative (solicits input to improve/enhance strategy and development);
