Product Manager – Uro-Oncology
Position Summary
Reporting to the Marketing Head – Specialty, the Product Manager (PM) – Uro-Oncology. This is a brand lead position for Ferring’s Uro-Oncology business with Firmagon being the lead brand. This individual will lead the cross functional team to develop the brand plan and will be responsible for the execution of the brand plan. As the product manager he/she will be responsible for the development and management of all marketing programs.
The individual will also be responsible for maximizing market penetration and profitability of assigned brands ultimately contributing to the overall sales and profitability of Ferring in Canada.
The PM is a HQ based role.
Job Function
The PM – Uro-Oncology is a HQ based role.
Areas of accountability include:
- Establishes collaborative working relationships with national KOL’s for advisory input on strategic issues.
- Develops best in class marketing and sales materials and campaigns to support execution of brand strategy/ plan.
- Responsible for inputs in the PSP for the brand. Work with Medical to ensure proper structure and execution of the PSP program – in line with the brand strategy.
- Responsible for managing the marketing spends and profit contribution of the brand.
- Brand lead who collaborates with the cross functional team (Medical, sales, access) to develop the brand plan defining the brand/product vision and works closely with the cross functional team to ensure revenue, profitability and customer satisfaction goals are met.
- Ensures accurate and reliable forecast based on available market and historical data. Works closely with logistics to manage inventory and samples on hand.
- Gather customer, patient, field input and market insights to build the brand plan/ vision.
- Manages within allotted budget while maximizing effectiveness of resources and tools. Monitors and evaluates competitive products and marketplace dynamics.
- Acts as a leader within the organization by showing up every day to contribute and collaborate while encouraging new ways of integrating business objectives with customer needs.
- Work collaboratively with the cross functional leadership to ensure execution of the brand plan. Liaison with sales to ensure tactical execution. Present the brand plan and tactical plan to the sales team at national meetings.
- Provides periodic updates reinforcing brand positioning with sales reps at meetings and teleconferences.
- Assesses and analyses the market penetration, competitive threat, sales execution to brand plan by region.
- Partners with appropriate parties to develop and implement CME programs and national/satellite symposia as needed.
Requirements
EDUCATION
- University degree in a related discipline (science or business) required, Postgraduate degree (MBA) required.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 2 years Marketing or Product Management experience in the pharmaceutical sector
- CCPE accreditation preferred
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
- Therapeutic area experience in Uro-Oncology, strongly preferred
- Emerging understanding and competencies in digital marketing, marketing leadership, strategic vision, tactical innovation and comprehensive functional skills and knowledge – e.g., segmentation, needs/risk assessment, SWOT, competitive strategy, customer mapping, market development, product life cycle management
- Excellent business acumen and analytical capabilities to ensuring effective Marketing spend (cost management), (re)assessing the ongoing viability of related investments
- Effective influencing competencies, positive attitude, self-motivated, and possessing high learning agility
- Ability to travel up to 30%
- Strong analytical thinking and ability to dig deep into available data to gain insights—able to identify solutions, and promptly action initiatives to support performance outcomes
- Proven ability to establish alliances with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), partners to ensure engagement and differentiation with all key customers
- Advanced computer skills, including: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, One Drive, Outlook), as well as other software packages and platforms – OCE CRM, IqVia, Dashboards, Navision (Finance), etc.
