Job Description
Major Functions And Responsibilities


  • Receives, sorts, case assembles (in Vantage) and distributes patient material.
  • Completes on site patient material retrieval and transport.
  • Assign the cases to the Pathologist’s Queue in the LIS (Millennium).
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Ensures documents/materials sourced from files are returned to correct file
  • Receives patient material, verifies patient material and information received is accurate for processing.
  • Verify technical workload tasks performed in Millennium.
  • Filing and/or scanning of Anatomical Pathology patient slides, tissue blocks, and paperwork
  • Checks filed documents/patient material as required
  • Prepare documentation and make arrangements to transfer archived material


Required Skills


  • Strong interpersonal skills: communication with physicians, pathologists and other healthcare professionals are required
  • The successful candidate must be able to work well independently and within a team
  • Strong data entry skills.


Required Experience


  • Must have experience working as Administrative Support II in Anatomic Pathology within the last 12 months
  • Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology.
  • Experience with filing is an asset
  • Experience with Cerner Millennium and/or Vantage is an asset


Minimum Qualifications


  • High school diploma or equivalent
