• Wage range for this position is $41,230.72 to $51,538.30
As a member of the Business Administration and Finance Team, the National Business Administration and Finance Coordinator is responsible for collecting, processing, and reviewing all data and documentation required to support the business’ accounting operations. This position provides support to the Business Administration and Finance team and other departments as a primary point of contact for administrative and accounting matters related to business operations.
The successful candidate is a proactive, resourceful, and highly organized individual with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently.
Responsibilities
Accounting Functions:
• Record accounts payable and process expenses through the accounting system based on invoices and other approved documents received
• Ensure accurate allocation of expenses and tax rebate claims
• Follow up with stakeholders concerning documentation for various transactions

• Prepare relevant reports as needed
Expense Reimbursement:
• Review and audit expense reimbursement reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Ensure disbursements are in line with accepted policy and supported by adequate documentation and approvals
• Understand Salvation Army policies and procedures to ensure expenditure claims are appropriate and accurate
Operations Administration:
• Provide clarification and assistance to various levels of management on matters of financial policies, quality control and integrity of financial information
• Develop, update, and maintain standardized work processes
• Undertake/assist with projects and other initiatives identified by the Director of Business Administration and Finance and National Business Administration and Finance Manager
• Look for and recommend cost saving opportunities to improve top and bottom-line results
Skills and Qualifications:
• College diploma in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting
• 2+ years experience in business administration, operations, or accounting
• Understanding of accounting principles, processes, and financial management
• Demonstrated experience working with financial systems - experience with Business World software is an asset
• Advanced level MS Office experience and proficiency in Excel, including creating spreadsheets, complex formulas, pivot tables, etc.
• Excellent communication, organizational and data processing skills with keen attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, prioritize and meet deadlines
• Results-oriented, self-motivated and disciplined self-starter
• Strong commitment to and ability to clearly articulate the mission statement, values and beliefs of The Salvation Army
• Will be required to work at the Oakville Head Office (2360 South Service Road West) a minimum of two days a week or as needed.
