Lead, Business Analyst Jobs

Position Description

The Lead Business Analyst possesses a solid understanding of all core business processes and software products used in the company and maintains a continued dialogue with all departments to identify issues where IT systems could be better used or where new systems may be needed. This role collaborates with business and IT leaders to refine project scope and objectives, identify requirements, and support the development of strategies and roadmaps to ensure successful project execution.

The role supports the Project Delivery group in providing business analysis oversight, direction, and leadership to the Project Delivery Business Analysis team. This position oversees the development of a Business Analysis Governance Framework, with the objective of developing resources and process to drive technology‑enabled operational excellence across core business areas.

The Lead Business Analyst consults with various program and project stakeholders. Leads or participates in pre-project and project initiation and planning activities to ensure business benefits and performance measures are clearly documented to enable tracking of benefits realization.

Job Responsibilities:

• Monitors and actively works to improve the quality of business analysis services that support the delivery of IT projects
• Conducts product research
• Manages, coaches and mentors Business Analyst team
• Monitors software changes and updates and advises on business impacts and how changes can help to improve business processes
• Performs other duties as required
• Oversees the design, development, deployment, and training related to business analysis processes, templates, and tools
• Develops end-user training materials and participate in providing end-user training
• Maintains a strong understanding of business applications, products and services, organizational delivery capabilities, and end-to-end processes
• Develops and executes test plans, and assembles and documents test results
• Leads Project Delivery efforts to improve business performance through technology-enabled process and organizational improvements.
• Engages with internal and external stakeholders to determine business improvement opportunities
• Supports and contributes to reports or presentations on solution options, status of current and future work activities, work plan, change readiness, UAT, etc.
• Builds strong business relationships
• Works collaboratively with BTT to develop business cases for software and technology products under consideration for purchase and provides advice/recommendations based on findings.
• Participates in the evaluation and selection of new software applications ensuring that new applications will meet business requirements
• Creates and maintains a business analysis framework and governance model to be consistently applied across projects.
• Works with the business to elicit/document business requirements in various forms including capabilities matrices, use cases, user scenarios, user stories, business process maps and translate these into functional and technical specifications

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience as a Business Analyst
• Strong leadership skills with ability to set priorities, train, motivate and manage a team
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related fields
• Experience working on projects utilizing traditional phased and Agile methodologies
• Demonstrated experience in data analytics with the ability to investigate reporting questions and generate reporting constructs
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
• Demonstrated ability to utilize initiative, vision, critical thinking, and creativity to analyze and solve complex business and technology problems.
• Ability to effectively learn new software and technologies supporting core organizational applications and functions
• Strong knowledge of business analysis frameworks, principles and methodologies, and tools
• Ability to work effectively under time pressure to meet deadlines, balance work priorities and resolve problems in a timely manner.
• Solid knowledge of project management principles and methodologies
• Demonstrated excellence in both verbal and written communication skills

Job Demands and/or Physical Requirements:

• Occasional travel to attend meetings and/or deliver end-user training may be required and may be on short notice
