JPMorgan Chase's Canada franchise has over 500 employees active in the Corporate & Investment Bank, Commercial Banking and Asset Management.

Job Responsibilities

The primary function of the role is to manage the execution of the country franchise agenda, provide business management support to Canada SCO ("Senior Country Officer") and Canada SCBM ("Senior Country Business Manager") .

The role involves significant exposure to the Canada SCO, local business executives and coverage bankers across the franchise, regular interaction with senior management in the region ("Latin America & Canada") as well as strong partnerships with product, risk and control partners globally. This position plays an important part in driving the country strategic agenda and the execution of key initiatives in Canada.

The position is based in Toronto, Canada with a local reporting line to the Canada SCBM and a functional line to the Regional CFO.

• Build product knowledge and awareness of business and country developments and requirements
• Run the real estate strategy for the franchise
• Act as a country representative in regional and business forums, including the NBIA process ("New Business Initiatives Approval process")
• Partner with U.S. based global business managers and the corporate strategy team to drive country specific initiatives and growth areas
• Support stakeholders with planning, forecasting, quarterly performance presentations, client analyses and account planning support
• Design and manage the execution of strategic, competitive and financial analyses (including country wallet reviews) in support of the businesses including key growth initiatives, resource optimization and expense controls
• Lead the oversight of the country client agenda
• Coordinate, plan and deliver the agenda for senior J.P. Morgan visitors to Canada
• Manage location budget for country people agenda initiatives, internal and external events and sponsorships
• Assist with country internal communications as needed
• Partner with key stakeholders in the Canada franchise to provide strategic guidance
• Understand the local competitive environment and review strategic opportunities that may enhance J.P. Morgan's competitive positioning in the market.

Required Qualifications, Skills And Capabilities

• Preferred knowledge of investment banking and markets products including market dynamics, economics, operating procedures, accounting and control policies
• Strong project management abilities, including the ability to juggle multiple deliverables simultaneously, with high quality output
• Ability to directly address conflicts and escalate issues where appropriate
• 10+ years of relevant Financial Services experience ideally coupled with investment banking, consulting or business management experience
• Confidence and ability to communicate clearly and present in front of senior audiences
• Excellent influence skills, including ability to work effectively across a large organization, execute projects, and build and manage cross-functional relationships
• Proven experience managing and leading work teams
• Individual must be results driven, have attention to detail, have passion for driving best practices, and be skilled at diplomatically breaking down barriers and obstacles
• Previous experience and understanding of the operational and control environment of a country franchise would be a strong advantage
• Advanced analytical and research skills, critical strategic thinking and problem solving abilities to propose and implement solutions
• Familiarity with the global macro and micro economic environment
