We are looking to enhance our team by welcoming Warehouse Coordinators.
This position is responsible for overseeing the safe and timely receipt, storage and retrieval of ingredients and packaging materials.This position is also responsible for timely order picking, packing and shipment of outgoing finished goods. In addition, this position is responsible for cycle and physical counts of inventory and the safe and orderly operation of the warehousing facilities.Also, ensure workplace health and safety requirements are met and take responsibility for the security of the building and stock.
Job Duties:
Shipping & Receiving
·Ensure that all material receipts are received into the system and put away in the designated rack locations according to GMP, storage requirements and allergen management policies before the end of your shift.
·Ensure that all orders are picked, packed, and shipped out on time.That includes e-commerce orders as well as regular shipments to distributors, retailers and co-man customers.
·Ensure that the shipping / receiving docks are always clear and unobstructed to ship finished goods or receive incoming materials.
·Coordinate breaks with other warehouse associates to ensure someone is always present at the shipping and receiving docks.
·Drive the shunt truck between the two building to move finished goods or materials as required by the business
·Process UPS parcel shipments on time including picking, packing and the preparation of paperwork and associated stickers.
Inventory Control
·Ensure extremely high inventory accuracy of all stock locally and 3PL – item, lot, quantity, location.
·Ensure timely and accurate inventory synchronization with the 3PL.
·Conduct cycle count and participate in annual physical count as required by the business.
·Ensure that the production projections of ingredients and packaging are present in the plant as they are needed, or alert Scheduling if there are shortages.
·Ensure all GMP and Taste of Nature work practices are followed and reinforced every time.
·Work with Finance to ensure that all miscellaneous issues are documented and all $ values are accurate.
·Make sure that all write-off transactions are completed in a timely manner to match financial records.
3PL Management
·Ensure high quality of transactions involving 3PL – product quality, quantity, lot management & availability.
·Report to Taste of Nature management any 3PL performance concerns
·Ensure that inventory is accurate at all 3PL locations by conducting a monthly check comparing our system with theirs
Production Support
·Ensure that production is never inconvenienced due to a warehouse team lapse in process.
·Ensure that all items taken to the production line are as ordered – item, lot, quantity, location – on time.
·Ensure all excess supply of materials are cleared out from Production and returned promptly and correctly
·Ensure that the Production/Warehouse handshake is completed daily and confirm that the Production floor is satisfied from a material supply point of view before you end your shift.
·Ensure all finished goods pallets from the production lines are promptly wrapped, identified and properly recorded in X3.
·Monitor the level of pallets in stock and ensure timely replenishment to avoid any production disruptions
Warehouse Continuous Improvement
·Participate and contribute to process development and improvement of warehouse functions.
·Train and support the on-boarding of temps or new full-time employees as the business requires
·Work collaboratively with other warehouse employees and production floor employees and assist where and when required.
·Look for ways to optimize space – some higher bays for high pallets, shorter bays with wire mesh and no pallet for few cases, etc.
·Look for ways to eliminate clutter and ensure that all goods are put away in the racks with nothing on the floor between racks.
Supplier Management
·Assist Purchasing to measure and monitor key aspects of supplier performance, such as on-time, complete, undamaged and so on
Qualifications / Skills:
·Minimum of 3 years of shipping and receiving experience in a food manufacturing environment
·Up to date license for the use of all powered warehouse lifting devices including reach trucks and ride along power trucks in compliance with all health and safety regulations in Ontario
·Working knowledge of logistics, including carriers, shipping policies and procedures
·Experience with processing of US bound and international shipments
·Demonstrated success managing inventory, including auditing, forecasting and planning
·Good computer skills and familiarity with the use of ERP software and UPS software to process the shipping/receiving of materials, finished goods and parcels
·Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, inventory/warehouse management and distribution software
·Experience managing warehouse design and facilities
·Judgment and decision-making ability

·Able to perform business math (basic algebra, compute rate, ratio, etc.)
·A valid Ontario “G” driver’s license is required
