Job Description

Position Summary:

Task-focused Logistics Coordinator with expertise ensuring the timely transit of commercial and industrial goods. Specialize in prioritizing scheduling, dispatching, routing, safety implementation and staff management duties. Strive to maintain a solid record of cost efficiency and profitability.


Responsibilities Overview:


· Obtaining & analyzing domestic and international transportation data and procedures

· Negotiation of freight costs worldwide, carriers, brokers….etc.

· Establish direct relationships with asset carriers

· Managing incoming and outgoing shipments with our various transporters.

· Managing the flow of materials and products that are in transit from the factory and other warehouse and project locations to respect deadlines.

· Ensure the compliance of commercial, administrative, and legal agreements including obligations in terms of customs legislation.

· Produce and prepare customs and shipping documentation for exports and imports.

· Keep abreast of transportation and customs regulations worldwide.

· Research and suggest cost-effective shipping methods.

· Provide total landed cost for all charge backs projects to the accounting department.

· Issue duty drawbacks when applicable.

· Issue carrier claims.

· Audit and approve invoices from all carriers.

· Monitor customs bonded shipments.

· Ensure all shipments are properly coded under the harmonized item description system (HS). (Import and export)

· Follow all jurisdictions under the United States-Mexico-Canada agreement. (USMCA/NAFTA)

· Ensure we have adequate coverage for our yearly US Customs bonds.

· Monitor and report shipments to our accounting department that have values over $900,000.00 USD for insurance coverage.

· Audit and provide report to accounting for our GST payments.

· Arrange and monitor all drop ship shipments “shipped” from suppliers directly to customers.

· Validate HS codes and values to all imports to Canada as per ERP system.

· Record keeping of all documentation for imports and export including local shipments.

· Address any Canadian or US customs audits.

· Ensure all RMA’s are promptly handled and reported to our QC department.

· Manage all transportation billings regarding payments or outstanding’s to all carries.

· Ensure we are adequately packing all shipments to fully protect our product.

· Ensure approved ISPM-15 requirements for wooden pallets are used for all air and land export shipments.

· Work with our present ERP system.

· Work with international Freight forwarders when necessary.

· Liaise with customer broker.

· Ensure we are following best practise along with trade and compliance.

· Satellite tracking of full truck loads.

· Work in collaboration with our sales department, production department, R & D Department, warehouse department and the facilities department.

· Implementation of CTPAT program.

· Issuance and knowledge of compliances for B13’s (Canada)


Requirements:


· A Bachelor’s Degree in logistics or equivalent.

· At least 3-5 years of freight forwarding experience in importation ( Canadian Customs clearance of shipments ).

· Act decisively to resolve problems.

· Solid organizational skills, detailed oriented and multi-tasking skills.

· Knowledge of:

1. air, ocean, rail, land transport (import and exports)

2. Oversize shipments

3. Inco terms 2020

4. Various programs: CTPAT, PIP and FAST, ISO, etc.

5. Letter of credits
