Our client is looking for a strong Technical Analyst who has supported large system implementation experience.
This is a 24 months contract with a strong possibility to extend for another 12 months.
This is a hybrid role - 3 days onsite in their downtown Toronto office
The objective of this engagement is to provide support to any of the configuration aspects of a large system implementation. The Technical Analyst will lead the deliverable activities listed below as an individual or part of a team of analysts working on a common goal of supporting a large implementation.
Technical Analyst will collaborate with business partners, and the techie colleagues to make a significant impact on the staff. As part of a large transformational project, the Technical Analyst will participate in the design, configuration and user experience for large complex systems. The Technical Analyst will support a large transformational project and is required to have the experience supporting a large system implementation (similar to ERP).
The Technical Analyst selected for this role is responsible for the following activities and deliverables:
• Apply human centered design to improve workflows, processes, system designs
• Use various methods of user research to test yours and the team’s ideas
• Use various methods of user testing to validate your and your team’s ideas and solutions
• Facilitate user testing, analyze findings and document user needs
• Present with great skills and create visual artifacts (these include presentations, wireframes, prototypes)
• Assesses system feasibility. Analyses system feasibility and recommends alternative solutions to meet user and Service requirements. Reviews problems and requirements with various levels of user groups. Recommends potential solutions, and, where appropriate and with the approval of the Project Leader, acts on solutions to user problems and conflicts.
• Develops and enforces system development standards. Researches, prepares, presents and enforces standards and procedures. Designs and produces reports and documentation. Creates user documentation, including user guides, on-line help and training material.
• Participates in the development of project scope. Develops project schedules and resource requirements for assigned projects for the review and approval of the Project Leader. Assists in monitoring the status of project plans.
• Plans, designs, develops and customizes complex business application systems. Provides system support to production applications.
• Creates user test plans, recruits participants, facilitates user testing, analyzes findings and documents user needs for the team.
• Prepares system test plans. Defines tests and expected results. Conducts unit, system, performance, stress and volume tests. Monitors user acceptance testing and responds accordingly. Coordinates pilot-testing, and monitors and evaluates results.
• Plans implementation and conversion schedules and methods.
• Learns various platforms and technologies and contributes (hands on) to the development and support of products and services.
• Coordinates the daily activities of junior staff to meet project schedules. Participates in hiring interviews.
• Liaises and communicates with users at all levels, with vendors, and with members of government and external agencies.
• Assists in the preparation of project budgets and contracts. Assists in the selection of consultants and vendors to provide Hardware/ Software.
• Trains users in the use of applications.
• Facilitate the team to share ideas
• Facilitate feedback from users, designers, business and other stakeholders
• Become a passionate advocate for the users your represent; citizens of Toronto and Toronto Police Service officers and staff
• Create engaging user training assets
• Collaborate with team members cross disciplines and departments
• Test and validate solutions
• Maintain current knowledge of trends in technology and introduces new approaches as appropriate
Mandatory
• College diploma or university degree in the field of business administration,
computer science, finance, or management information systems
• Training in Analysis, Design and Test Methodology and Tools, Data and Process Modelling and experience in Full System Development Life Cycle would be an asset.
