Who You Are

The Technical Operations Engineer is responsible for operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining mission critical infrastructure which requires advanced level Linux server administration, scripting, and configuration management in a 24/7 environment. This role requires proactively monitoring all aspects of the platform including hardware, network, and software and being able to respond quickly and effectively to any issues.

Responsibilities

1. Proactively monitor all aspects of the platform including hardware, network, and software
2. Identify, respond to and resolve incidents quickly and efficiently
3. Diagnose and troubleshoot complex problems spanning servers, networks, and applications
4. Plan, schedule, and deploy upgrades to infrastructure (hardware and software)
5. Maintain a secure operating environment by adhering to established standards
6. Propose, participate in and lead projects to support explosive business growth
7. Propose and work on automation projects to drive operational efficiencies
8. Participate in the on-call rotation to support the 24/7 environment

Role’s Requirements

1. Minimum of 3 years of related work experience
2. Proven experience working in a 24/7 SaaS environment
3. Deep understanding of Linux administration
4. Solid understanding and professional experience working with Kubernetes
5. Scripting or programming ability in one or more of Python, Ruby, Bash
6. Proven experience with configuration management tools like Chef, Ansible, or Salt
7. Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases
8. Deep understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and proven ability to debug network issues
9. Experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as Nagios, Grafana, Kibana
10. Solid understanding of Docker and containerization technologies

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers and smartphones.

Physical Demands

This role requires extended periods of sitting or standing at a computer workstation.
