Smith and Longis a fast-growing, multi-trade company in the Canadian market with a unique internal culture similar to that of a software start-up. Our recent launch of a new ERP system has given us the tools to improve our business processes and reporting. To support our continuous enhancements and gain key insights to measure the success of our implementations, we are expanding our team and seeking aSystem Analystto join our Business Transformation team.
Reporting to theManager, Software Development and Delivery, the System Analyst will be responsible for analyzing, designing, and developing analytics that provide valuable insights into our business operations. The ideal candidate should be able to communicate effectively in both technical and non-technical environments, have excellent organizational and document management skills, and be comfortable with presentations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform regular reviews of system efficiencies and generate reports on improvement areas.
- Support the onboarding of sister companies and train associates on procedures, workflow, systems, and data.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to system functionality and data integrity.
- Occasionally travel to the secondary office and GTA offices.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to gather requirements and develop analytics that drive business insights.
- Create reports and presentations on system performance and improvements.
- Provide business analysis on key issues and processes, and work with business and IT partners to implement changes and drive improvements.
- Provide technical assistance and support for ERP system users.
- Develop and maintain high-quality system documentation, including business metadata, guidelines, and manuals.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops on system processes for end-users.
Skills & Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar role supporting information technology projects is REQUIRED
- Knowledge of data modelling and data visualization tools.
- Completion of a relevant technical post-secondary degree or diploma is REQUIRED
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong business analysis, process mapping, business process redesign and implementation skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Strong presentation skills in Microsoft PowerPoint, with the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide data-driven advice on process improvements.
