The City of Beaumont is seeking a leader with exceptional interpersonal skills for the role of Supervisor, Youth Centre at the Chantal Berube Youth Centre (CBYC). This is a term position for 13 months.

Key areas of responsibilities include:

• Monitor and approve revenues and expenditures within budget in accordance with administrative policies
• Coordinates the planning and implementation of programs and services based on the needs of the community as well as evidence based models
• Establish goals and policies as well as clarifying and implementing the vision of the Centre
• Acts as a liaison between youth in the community and City Council
• Provides creative leadership through mentoring the Youth Centre Staff and Volunteers
• Creates and maintains community partnerships that promote the positive development of youth
• Provide one on one support to youth experiencing crisis and complex mental health issues
• Responsible for booking and creating rental contracts for the centre
• Provides positive relationship building, mentorship and opportunities for success for youth in the community
• Evaluates and measures program outcomes and services delivered by the Centre, inclusive of compiling and maintaining statistics
• Responsible for the staffing requirements of the Centre, inclusive of recruitment, training, scheduling and supervising/mentoring staff

Required knowledge, education and experience:

• Municipal Government experience is considered and asset
• Current Standard First Aid/CPR (must be maintained)
• Degree in Human Services, Child and Youth Care or relevant field
• Provide a current Criminal Record Check and Intervention Record Check
• Minimum 3 years’ experience managing a youth centre and in youth programming and supervision

The successful candidate for this position must provide a clear Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector and an Alberta Children Services Intervention Check as a condition of employment and prior to the commencement of work.
