Plains is looking for an organized and reliable temporary full-time maintenance support / utility person for a six-month term at our Empress Straddle Plant, located approximately 100 km north of Medicine Hat, Alberta. As a member of the Plains Empress North Operations Team, you will report to the Mechanical Team Lead. In this role, you will have the opportunity to excel in a team environment and contribute to the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of one of the largest gas processing facilities in North America.

Responsibilities:


  • Performing manual labour, including heavy lifting and the loading of rail / tank cars, in strict accordance with company standards, policies, and procedures


Qualifications:


  • Site related and oil / gas industrial experience considered an asset
  • Demonstrated computer literacy
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Compliance with the Company’s drug and alcohol policy including pre-employment D&A testing
  • Heavy equipment (aerial lift, wheel loader, skid steer) operating experience considered an asset
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Preference will be given to the following trades / certifications: Industrial Mechanic (Millwright), Steamfitter/Pipefitter, Electrician, Instrumentation and Control Technician, 4th Class Power Engineer
  • Compliance with the Company’s requirement to be clean shaven to ensure proper fit of emergency PPE
  • Cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract; Class 3A considered an asset
  • Minimum Grade 12 education
  • A self-starter with the ability to make sound decisions and carry out daily duties
