• This is a 6 month term opportunity

As ATB's next Research & Insights Analyst, you'll be an integral part of ATB Wealth's Growth and Innovation team. We're a new strategic team inside ATB's Wealth Management division providing vital insights to drive business strategy, innovation and growth. You'll work to uncover critical information about target firms, teams and/or individuals that represent an opportunity for ATB to improve our market position and value proposition through inorganic growth. In this role, you'll help tell the story by diving deep into research, synthesizing insights and translating the opportunity in a clear, organized story framework so that our business partners and senior leaders can make decisions based on the best and most up-to-date knowledge.

Accountabilities

• Gather insights and uncover additional important factors related to ESG, diversity and inclusion, compliance or legal histories that would be valuable to consider.
• Utilize strong research skills to deepen our understanding of target firms, teams and/or individuals that represent an inorganic growth opportunity for ATB.
• Apply critical thinking and analysis to uncover new opportunities for consideration in Wealth Management and beyond.
• Combine quantitative and qualitative analysis and research findings into actionable insights.
• Translate complex concepts and data-based findings into digestible briefings for diverse audiences via written reports, engaging presentations, and easy to use dashboards.
• Scan and analyze the competitive environment, identifying industry trends that may impact opportunities.
• Dive into internal and external data sources (e.g., annual reports, social media, compliance reports, etc.) to develop a comprehensive understanding of our targets' history including but not limited to: service models, differentiation, locations, key people and potential risks.
• Work closely with team members in analytical, research and strategy development roles to drive business results.

Requirements

• A strong working knowledge of Excel and Google Workspace (formerly GSuite). Experience using data visualization and dashboard tools such as Tableau is considered an asset.
• Strong research abilities; able to quickly locate relevant and reputable sources to determine industry trends and other opportunities/challenges for ATB & our clients.
• An analytical mind and be prepared to use evidence and facts to challenge the status quo and prevailing wisdom.
• A strong sense of personal accountability demonstrated by taking pride in your work and ensuring that deliverables are of the highest quality.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including storytelling, and exceptional attention to detail.
• Demonstrated experience analyzing quantitative and qualitative data sources to derive insights and make recommendations.
• Experience in Wealth Management, Banking or other Financial industry is considered an asset.
• A university degree with a focus in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Social Sciences or Engineering.
• Able to effectively prioritize and manage your time with minimal supervision.
