Youth Centre Support Staff Jobs

Minimum of three years’ experience in a relevant field is required; directly working with youth is preferred.

Demonstrated ability and experience in creating opportunities for meaningful youth engagement and fostering youth leadership.

Experience in the application of public health principles and practices, partnership development, and community development

Experience relevant to children and youth, health promotion strategies in school and community settings preferred

Baccalaureate degree in a relevant health care discipline (ex. registered nurse, occupational therapist, social work, nutritionist).

Registered/licensed with your regulated health care discipline, college or association is required (registered nurse, occupational therapist, social work, nutritionist).

Deliver a friendly and efficient cash wrap experience, while reinforcing the customer’s purchase and capturing the customer’s phone number/email address

Effective communication skills, being open to feedback and the ability to act on it

Recover merchandise on the sales floor and replenish merchandise to brand standards

Support product replenishment activities that keep the store full and abundant, including processing merchandise and maintaining the back room

Assist with floorset execution, window changes, visual presentation and marketing placement as needed

Abide by our values, policies, procedures and safety messages

Required knowledge, education and experience:

Responsible for the staffing requirements of the Centre, inclusive of recruitment, training, scheduling and supervising/mentoring staff

Minimum 3 years’ experience managing a youth centre and in youth programming and supervision

Municipal Government experience is considered and asset

Key areas of responsibilities include:

Establish goals and policies as well as clarifying and implementing the vision of the Centre

Cash handling responsibilities including verifying and retrieving floats, completing revenue drops

Previous community centre experience preferred or related experience.

Excellent customer service and public relations skills.

Also maintain the ice surfaces, where applicable, at a risk free level, operating snow removal equipment and supervising public skates

Complete painting and special project.

Checking functions in the facility and reporting any issues to the full time operations staff
