Resource Centre Youth Worker Jobs

Excellent time management and organizational skills

Demonstrated advanced computer skills including experience in web-development and database projects

Undergraduate Degree in Psychology, Family Studies, Health Education or equivalent

Previous experience in working with children and families

Broad understanding of child development

Willingness to participate in a criminal reference screening process

Minimum of three years’ experience in a relevant field is required; directly working with youth is preferred.

Demonstrated ability and experience in creating opportunities for meaningful youth engagement and fostering youth leadership.

Experience in the application of public health principles and practices, partnership development, and community development

Experience relevant to children and youth, health promotion strategies in school and community settings preferred

Baccalaureate degree in a relevant health care discipline (ex. registered nurse, occupational therapist, social work, nutritionist).

Registered/licensed with your regulated health care discipline, college or association is required (registered nurse, occupational therapist, social work, nutritionist).

Proficient knowledge and experience working with computers applications is required

Experience and knowledge with Meditech is required

Grade 12 education or equivalent

Experience in Microsoft Word and Excel (or similar applications) is required

Knowledge of scheduling systems is an asset

Post-secondary certificate course in medical office related studies is an asset

Must have an Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma or Ontario Ministry of Education equivalency;

Must have over one (1) year of experience working in a customer service-oriented environment;

Must have excellent oral presentation/communication skills, along with strong interpersonal and consultative skills;

Required knowledge, education and experience:

Responsible for the staffing requirements of the Centre, inclusive of recruitment, training, scheduling and supervising/mentoring staff

Minimum 3 years’ experience managing a youth centre and in youth programming and supervision

Municipal Government experience is considered and asset

Key areas of responsibilities include:

Establish goals and policies as well as clarifying and implementing the vision of the Centre
