Our Funding Catalyst team works closely with high-growth venture founders to help them articulate their vision, develop a capitalization strategy for their growth, and identify and apply for various forms of capital to support it. We are on a mission to be the trusted source for fundraising strategies and execution for ventures across North America. Since its inception, Funding Catalyst has helped companies secure millions in non-dilutive capital, accelerating the growth and development of start-ups in the innovation ecosystem.
Thin Air Labs’ Funding Catalyst team is looking for a Team Lead with a passion for entrepreneurship and an intimate knowledge of the non-dilutive landscape in North America. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with Thin Air Labs’ leadership and Funding Catalyst team to lead and grow our Funding Catalyst Team to support more high-growth ventures across Canada.
You would be described as:
- Competent in performance management, with the capability to provide feedback, set performance goals, and conduct performance reviews.
- Skilled at understanding and using important performance metrics (KPIs) to set and achieve goals.
- Skilled in budget management and resource allocation for team projects and initiatives.
- Proficient in resource allocation, including delegating tasks and projects to team members based on strengths and expertise
- Strong ability to assess process and make changes in an iterative fashion and gain buy-in from others around process adoption
- Having strong technical writing skills with the ability to break down complex ideas in a concise and persuasive tone
- 3-5 years of leadership experience within a services organization, demonstrating a strong track record of effective leadership and team development.
- Proficient in talent acquisition, including recruiting, interviewing and selecting new team members
- A strong network within different funding agencies, ecosystem groups and tech stack providers that can be called upon to support our ventures
- Skilled at team development, fostering a positive work environment, and helping team members develop their skills.
- Proficient in stakeholder management, including maintaining relationships with funding agencies, ecosystem groups, and tech providers.
- Proficient in engaging and communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical executives and team members within customer organizations, fostering strong relationships and maintaining an influential presence.
- Outcome driven with the ability to keep the big picture in mind while staying grounded in the work required to achieve it
You will be responsible for:
- Collaborating with the sales team to provide data-driven insights from the delivery team
- Professional development and up-skilling of Funding Catalyst team members
- Leadership of Funding Catalyst team with an emphasis on achievement of delivery and customer KPIs
- Development and quality assurance of the Funding Catalyst grant writing roster
- Solution-support of technical non-dilutive funding challenges within the Funding Catalyst team
- Monitoring and reporting on project health, ensuring projects are delivered in a timely format and on budget
- Assignment of projects to Funding Catalyst team members and oversight of all projects
- Recruiting, interviewing, selecting and onboarding new Funding Catalyst team members
- Ownership of key business metrics including customer sentiment, revenue realized and gross profit
- Overseeing and managing customer accounts, including retainer engagements and various projects within your portfolio and those assigned to your team members
Additionally, you will also participate in:
- Implementing strategic objectives of the organization
- Monthly/quarterly objective and goal setting for Funding Catalyst
