Our Grande Prairie OSB Division is seeking individuals with strong technical, leadership, planning, organization and interpersonal skills to fill the following position


The Materials Lead is a member of the Grande Prairie OSB Leadership Team and is responsible for the development and management of the supply chain process to ensure production needs are met, maximum value is received, and supplier agreements are competitive in the marketplace.


Responsibilities


  • Supervise and safely lead the Stores Team to excel in their tasks
  • Manage the process of external rebuilds with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Coordinate with buyers, planners and engineers to maintain appropriate service levels
  • Provide leadership through the coaching of all employees under your direction
  • Develop and document procedures and workflow processes
  • Coordinate with Corporate purchasing; communicate with other divisions and Corporate to leverage buying power
  • Maintain the computerized purchasing and inventory control system
  • Complete inventory management duties for site
  • Expedite items when required to support 24/7 operations
  • Provide direction for optimal inventory levels, cost control & savings, risk management, process improvement & KPI targets
  • NIR (New Inventory Request) process management


Our Ideal Candidate Would Have


  • Strong planning, organizational, and decision-making skills
  • At least two (2) years supervisory experience
  • Proficiency with MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word, Maximo, and Oracle
  • Change Management Skills (Initiating, facilitating and implementing change)
  • Have the desire to learn, grow, and succeed
  • A strong commitment to customer service
  • SCMP designation is an asset
  • Ability to work effectively and multi-task in a team environment
  • Previous inventory or buying experience is an asset; ideally in a wood products facility
  • Embody the West Fraser traits of integrity, humility, teamwork, frugality, innovation, competitiveness, and respect
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
